𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 just kept passing, and both James and Letty hadn't stopped talking. They had eaten some more food that James packed, as well as having drunk the entire bottle of apple cider. Letty had even had the hiccups for a while.

"Let's go see the waterfall," Letty says.

"It's freezing," he mentions, looking at the red dot that is her nose.

"We're not going in the water," she tells him, "We're just going to look at it. I kind of want to see it before it gets dark." The sun was starting to set, the sky a hue of orange on the horizon. Clouds blanketed the sun and sky in beautiful wispy shadows.

He couldn't deny any wish she had, especially not when she was looking at him. She was so beautiful it was hard to not fold in her presence. He realizes at this moment, that he would probably do anything she asked.

"Alright," he nods, standing up and reaching his hand out for hers. Gently pulling her up, he slides his hand from her palm to her lower back and leads her past the trees and over the small hills.

She can see the cows that covet the green field, crunchy leaves under her feet that accompany the season of fall. Bloomed flowers sit in clustered rows, some with wilting leaves on them.

She pulls on James' arm as he walks ahead of her, gesturing to a baby cow that's merely three feet away from her. He smiles down at her, loving the look of adoration and curiosity on her face.

She bends down and takes a small bit of grass from the ground, slowly walking up to the calf, and extending her hand for it. Its large nostrils sniff around her palm, wide eyes becoming bright as it stretches out its tongue and licks along her hand, taking the grass.

A loud chewing noise accompanies the action and she smiles, bringing her hand to pet the animal. Soft fur between her fingers has her smile widening and she uses her other hand to wave James down.

He finds himself smiling at her, and he drops to his knees next to her. The calf is frightened at first but instantly recovers. Alouette looks to James, reaching down to grab his hand.

She laughs when he looks confused. She pulls his hand up, her fingers on top of his as she sets his down on the cow's head. She takes her hand off and watches as his thick fingers pet around the brown spotted fur.

He's hesitant at first, but when the animal tilts its head into his hand, he can't help the grin that breaks out on his face. Letty watches his handsome features warp into one of fondness for the creature.
