𝙇𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙨 awake in bed, her room pitch dark with the curtains drawn shut. A tight knot in her stomach pulls, her throat convulsing with a sick need to regurgitate.
The entire morning she'd felt this way, like she had to puke. Except, she didn't know when or if it would really come.
Her body felt heavy, even the slightest movement was difficult. It was like she was stuck underwater with two stone bricks tied to her ankles.
She'd been trying to fall back asleep and wash the pain away with unconsciousness, but the recurring threat of her spasming throat wouldn't allow her.
Nat had come to check on her this morning, and decided to stay home from work when she saw how sick her friend looked.
Her face was pale, even more so than when she got tired on a walk, and she had such a high fever, beads of sweat were starting to make their way to the crown of her head. Nat had called Dr. Banner and he was supposed to be there any minute.
But as of the moment, Nat was laying right next to Letty, comforting her by trying to make conversation. She knew how much Letty loved to talk, so she figured if she got her started it would take her mind off the pain.
"So what happened last Tuesday?" She asks mockingly, "With James."
Letty smiles weakly, "Not much."
"Not much as in... a lot? Or not much as in not much?"
"Not much," Letty repeats.
"Did you guys kiss?" She asks, trying to get more out of her.
"Yeah."
She smiles at the hint of happiness in her voice when she answers. "Okay... did you guys... do other things?"
Letty wrinkles her eyebrows, making Nat chuckle as she gestures for an answer. "No, we didn't."
"Really? Was there any under the clothes action?"
"No," Letty says, and Nat can tell she wants to laugh.
"Over the clothes?"
"No."
"Well then he's either being a gentleman or he's treating you like china glass because anyone who has been on two dates with someone would've banged them by now."
