I stood in front of my house with Asaiah right next to me. Out of nervousness, I picked at the seam on my pants.
I was dressed pretty casual. Asaiah put on a cute flowery dress that went to her knees. She even curled her hair a bit. I made sure she knew she looked pretty as soon as I saw her.
Mal's Mustang pulled up, Gi in the passenger seat. "Hey, bitches! You ready?"
I looked at my friend who was already heading to open the car door. "Yeah!" she sarcastically said, pumping a fist in the air.
We sat next to each other in the back since the far left seat had a pile of trash on it.
"You nervous?" Asaiah whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
What? The! Heck? Why did I think that?
I gulped. "Kind of. Parties aren't really my scene. And.. I have anxiety."
She nodded and mouthed the word Oh. "I don't really know anyone."
"It's okay. Stick with me. I'm acquaintances with everyone in the school, assuming it's someone at school hosting it."
"Is your anxiety bad?"
"No, my anxiety is really good!" I sarcastically said, sounding really mean. "Sorry. I was kidding."
She pressed her mouth into a smile and set her hand on top of mine comfortingly.
"We're here! And Mac.." Mal turned around and looked at me threateningly. "At least talk to Lilly a bit, okay? You don't have to go to a room with her or become besties. I just want you to give her a chance. And.." She glanced down at our hands. "Try not to act so smitten with each other. Lilly will think I lied when I said you're single."
My hands quickly pulled away and went to the door handle. "I am single."
