"How was your date on Friday?" I asked as she hopped in my car to go to school on Monday.
We hadn't really seen or talked to each other over the weekend.
"It was really nice. He took my to a fancy restaurant and we had some really nice steak. Then, he took me to go watch a movie. We held hands and all that too!"
I subtly rolled my eyes. "Nice."
"What's wrong?" she immediately queried.
"Nothing is wrong. Why?"
"You rolled your eyes," she responded pointedly.
"No, I didn't."
"Yes, you did!"
I started the car and pulled out onto the street. "No. I didn't."
"Whatever. It doesn't matter if you don't like Tyler. I do!"
"I never said I didn't like Tyler," I rebutted in an exasperated tone. With a sigh, I headed to school.
"You rolled your eyes, and every time I bring him up, you get all annoyed."
"It's all in your head."
She scoffed. "What?"
"What?"
"See! You're all annoyed right now!"
"Because you're saying I have something against your boyfriend when I genuinely could care less."
I saw her glare at me from my peripheral vision, speechless.
When I parked, she immediately got out and walked off without waiting for me.
Somebody's insecure about her boyfriend.
