I was already at Mac's car before he got there after school.

"Hey. I thought you said Tyler wanted you to ride with him?" He hopped in and unlocked my door.

I got situated and buckled myself. "Are you feeling better now?"

His eyebrows furrowed before he realized what I meant. "Yeah. Maybe it'll be better tomorrow."

I nodded and looked over at him. He was so beautiful. Such an amazing person that deserves the world.

"What? Is there something on my face?"

"No." I turned away. "Tyler is an asshole. I didn't see it before, but I refuse to date someone who is so heartless to you and probably any other queer people."

I saw him swallow nervously before starting the car up and pulling out of the lot. "How was your day?"

I frowned. "It wasn't very good. Tyler and I got in a fight in P.E and he kept trying to talk to me all day but it was distracting me from work."

"Oh. Was the fight about me?

I nodded slowly. "I told him that I wanted to break up with him because he deserves another shitbag like himself to date."

I saw his body flinch a little.

"Happy?"

"About you guys? Why would I be?"

"I don't know.."

We continued in Ilene for a bit before he pulled into his driveway and walked me to my house.

"I can't hang out at your place until 7, so do you want to come over to mine?" he mumbled as I was closing the door.

"Oh. Yeah! It's weird that I've literally never been in your house."

"Yeah. I'll have to ask my parents to invite you for dinner sometime. But come over when you're ready." He waved and walked off.

I stared at him as he went to his house for a bit too long. I felt my stomach tying in knots. He smiled at me before closing his door.

God. That smile is everything!
