Carlisle Cullen watched the scene in front of him, feeling a lump begin to form in his throat. They were unable -at least he was- to hear what they were saying, but the closeness between them and the way they looked at each other when their eyes met made him want to run away, either to separate them or to go somewhere far away from the scene. He could only think how much he wanted it to be over and done with, and even more so when he saw Vincent's head settle on Cosette's shoulder.

At no time did it cross his mind that they had entered Cosette's house to ask for help.

At some point Cosette turned her face to look at them and, for the second time, he could see that their eyes were no longer storm blue but a crimson red. He felt his dead heart stop as he met them, red against gold. A red that seemed to intensify as it glowed brightly. Cosette left Vincent's unconscious body on the couch without taking her eyes off him and approached him at a slow pace as a smile began to grace her face. A smile that made her eyes narrow.

Carlisle thought that the scene would at some point get his heart beating again, and wildly nonetheless. He held the air he didn't need when he felt warm skin around his neck and breath on his lips as they whispered his name, saying what he so had longed to hear.

"Carlisle, I like you."

He felt his hands move on their own to Cosette's waist as if he were possessed, his eyes were closing as he lost himself in her crimson gaze and felt lips press against his.

"As surprised as I am by this, I have to interrupt, Thyra," Magnus said, drawing the young woman's attention and filling his family with bewilderment.

It was one thing that Cosette's real name was Rêverie, but now there was another one? And why did her eyes now resemble those of a vampire feeding on human blood?

"And here I thought I could have a little more fun," Thyra mumbled against Carlisle's lips.

She took in the man's expression, his eyes still closed, completely oblivious to reality.

"So cute."

Thyra smiled at the sight and pecked a kiss on the vampire's lips before pulling away from him completely.

"Well, what do you want? Sneaking into other people's houses, I suppose it's important," she guessed, trailing off as she returned to the unconscious Kieran's side.

She watched everyone with boredom as if they were mere insects as she sat cross-legged.

"Well? I'm waiting."

Magnus Bane watched in disbelief as Thyra's attitude returned to her usual self when less than five seconds ago he had seen her smile and show more positive emotions than he had seen in her in the last ten years.

"I need your help. There was a tracker among the nomads, he wants me dead."

Isabella stepped forward confidently while showing fear. She was sure she wouldn't refuse her call of help if -after what they'd seen- she asked for it in front of Carlisle.
