Clouds covered Forks's sky during the day and prevented its inhabitants from seeing even a glimmer of light from the sun, but at night -at times- the clouds would disappear and reveal the stars that accompanied the lonely moon in the sky.

Those nights were always Rêverie's favorite. Whenever she found it difficult to sleep she would climb up on the roof of the house and lie there watching the sky as she felt the wind blowing. However, what she loved most about those nights was to find her older sister already on the roof watching the stars. Keira would look in her direction and pat her side so that Rêverie would lie down next to her, then proceed to point at the stars and tell her things about them.

There were nights when she would fall asleep while listening to the made-up stories Keira told her about every star, and there were nights when they would both lie there awake until the clouds covered the stars and the moon completely.

Even now, Rêverie had got into the habit of going up to a high place and watching the stars whenever she could not sleep, and sometimes she would close her eyes, imagining that her sister was still beside her, telling her another one of her made-up stories.

"How much longer do you plan to keep hiding?"

Rêverie opened her eyes, looking sideways as the blonde-haired vampire with the pathokinesis gift appeared, his face showed the uncertainty and insecurity he felt.

"Family issue? I thought you'd be too old for them by now," she commented teasingly as she let him sit down next to her.

"Bella wants to become a vampire, we vote and I... voted against it."

The words were out of his mouth before he could even process them. Rêverie's emotions stirred -though her face showed no change- Jasper could feel the annoyance that began to emanate from her at the mention of Isabella's name.

"Do you regret it?"

The question left Rêverie's lips as her eyes remained fixed on the sky. The tone she used was disinterested, yet the emotions she emanated seemed to be struggling to tell him something and yet nothing.

"See that star far away from the constellation Lyra?"

Jasper's eyes turned to the star Rêverie was asking about.

"That star was a long, long time ago even more distant from the others than before. So far away that it couldn't even see the brightness of the others, and thought it was unique in the whole universe," she said as her arm stopped pointing at the star. "One day, as it moved through the universe, it saw in the distance a brightness similar to its own. Curious, it moved closer and closer to it until the star came across a group of stars, and tried to talk to them. The star was happy to find someone else like her, but the group of stars rejected her because her appearance would destroy their formation.
