As the month of March came to an end, the Cullen family, with the exception of Edward and his girlfriend, returned to Forks and stumbled upon a young couple taking a walk in the woods.

The patriarch's attention was drawn to them primarily because they possessed the scent of his mate imbued in them, but also because of their extremely familiar faces.

“What are you?” Rosalie Hale questioned out loud, defensively, scowling at them, “You are not vampires, but you are not human either.”

However, the couple's attention was drawn not to Rosalie or any of the older members of the Cullen family, but to the newest. Their attention fell on Narumi Nara and their eyes began to fill with tears that made the Cullen family lower their guard.

“お姉ちゃん。。。? (O nēchan…?; Sis…?)”

The young man's voice was heard as the Cullens recognised the Japanese word came out of his mouth.

“I think you have the wrong person,” Narumi pronounced moments later, stepping forward with a worried expression as she watched a stray tear fall from the boy's turquoise blue eyes.

Narumi watched them closely without cutting the short distance between them, taking a few seconds before smiling and realizing who they were.

“You're Rêverie's family!” she said, recognizing them with a sparkle in her eyes. “I hadn't realized because I had only seen you with the bandages on. Is Rêverie here with you?”

“N-No…” they answered, still not out of their surprise.

That girl was just like their sister Naoko, the only difference was her eyes and… that she was alive when Naoko wasn't.

“What are you?” Rosalie questioned again, positioning herself in front of Narumi as she saw them step forward.

“We are... hybrids,” Aelan answered quietly, taking her partner's hand. “We mean no harm to anyone,” she added, fixing her gaze on the girl's golden eyes for the first time. “You are the vegetarian clan Rêve mentioned before, aren't you?”

“We don't plan to kill anyone, so there's no need to keep your guard up with us,” Arien added, turning his attention away from Narumi. “We'll leave when we finish our unfinished business.”

“Well, let's not be too hasty either,” Magnus said at his words. “We're not trying to drive you out, we just want to understand what you are. The last thing I need is for Rêverie to think I'm bullying you,” he laughed, taking the lead. “So how about we finish this conversation over a cup of tea? Our house is not far from here and I think you have a lot of questions and so do we.”

“All right…” agreed Arien, still unsure, but willing to take the risk to understand why this girl looked so much like his older sister.

Thus, after a long talk, Yuna Aelan Sakurai and Nagisa Arien Kirigaya became protégés of the Cullen family.
