Rêverie felt her heart stop as she saw the chief surgeon enter the room with a blond-haired, blue-eyed man smiling kindly.

‘Carlisle! I told you I wasn't crazy!’

Two months or more ago, she had caught a scent that reminded her of Carlisle's around the hospital every time she came to visit her siblings and Thyra had kept emphasizing it to her urging her to look for the source, but she always ignored her ramblings  believing it was one of her tricks to get her to speed up her plans. Now she could see with her own eyes that Thyra was not wrong.

“And this is Yume Kirigaya, you will be at her care. She's the best next in general surgery,” introduced the man with a smile, pointing to the young woman who still showed no emotion. “Don't be surprised at how young she is, she's a genius and so are her friends.”

“W-What do you mean?” asked Rêverie out of her surprise, getting up from her place. “You know I don't teach anyone.”

“Yume, remember that you agreed to look after one when you came back due to our staff shortage,” he reminded her, smiling as he pushed the intern forward. “Don't let her kind attitude fool you, she's cruel when it comes to giving orders,” he whispered —loud enough to be heard across the room— in Carlisle's ear. “But today I just want you to get to know each other, you'll be in her official charge starting from Monday. That's when her sick leave ends,” he said, patting the young man's shoulder before leaving.

“Pleasure working with you, Dr. Kirigaya,” said Carlisle, extending his hand to her, still with a smile on his face. “Carlisle Cullen, I'll be in your care. Is there anything I can do for you now?”

“What have you been doing so far?”

“Checking on your patients.”

“Then keep doing that,” she ordered, looking away from him.

Rêverie's eyes returned to the infants sleeping peacefully beside their parents, her gaze seeming to soften as she watched them.

‘Why are you sending him away!’

Thyra. Get a hold of yourself, will you?

Rêverie's eyes were fixed on her family, but her mind was only going over and over the plan that would be carried out that very afternoon. She hoped everything would go well or else a lot would have to be changed in all the other plans.

The hours passed, Carlisle had returned during them to inform her of his steps and then left under her gaze, soon it was four o'clock in the afternoon and with that the chaos began. Throughout the day, countless baskets of flowers had been delivered to the patients, and finally —noting the strangeness of the situation— the FBI got down to work and began planning a transfer of all the patients in the presence of bombs set to explode.
