I jolt awake to the sounds of banging and slamming coming from Rick's house. I sit upright, looking for Eddie but he's nowhere to be seen, despite him sleeping next to me last night.

I grab Steve's oar and slowly make my way over to the back door of the house. My shoes are off so I don't make any sound as I tiptoe across the wooden floor.

I sneak in, sliding through the door, holding the oar aloft. Ready to strike at the intruder and disturber of sleep.

I turn the corner, and scream.

"Ah! Fucking hell, Lyssa! You scared the shit out of me!" Eddie screams, clutching his chest in one hand, and a pan of spaghetti hoops in the other.

"What the hell are you doing Eddie?" I ask, relieved, dropping the oar to the floor with a loud thud.

"I was trying to find us something to eat. I wanted to surprise you with something for breakfast, so I let you sleep. But there's nothing fucking here besides these tinned spaghetti hoops."

"If you didn't want to wake me up, you should've been a bit more quiet. For goodness sake, Eddie, you're in hiding. Why are you being so loud?"

"I got annoyed. I wanted to surprise my woman with a good breakfast and instead I've got this. Once this shit has blown over, I'm cooking you the best breakfast you've ever had."

"As much as I appreciate the thought, you need to be more careful. What happened to the food I brought you? That Dustin brought us? I thought there was enough for a few days."

"Er...there was, but after getting high, I kinda, uh, ate it all."

I roll my eyes at Eddie but I suppose its also my fault for bringing weed to him in the first place.

Eddie stares at me apologetically.

"Just be careful, okay? Jason's still out there trying to hunt you down."

"I know it's stupid as shit but I was hungry and figured you would be too after last night. We needed food. I found something. It won't happen again. I, uh, managed to get through to Wheeler on the walkie and asked for another food delivery, and a six pack."

"A six pack, really Eddie?"

"You had a nightmare, we ran out of weed yesterday and I thought some beer would help us."

"Hurry up and eat your food Munson so we can get back into the boathouse."

"Only if you join me."

He holds a fork out to me and I take it, glaring at him.

"Bon appétit!"

Eddie's arms tighten around me as we stare up at the ceiling. I feel his face turn towards me as he plants a kiss on the side of my head.

I turn and give him a little smile, to which he returns. He turns towards the tin he found earlier, now empty and throws something into it. Trying to keep himself entertained.

"How's your dad?" Eddie asks.

"He's okay, I guess. I don't really see much of him anymore. He's either working or at a bar getting piss drunk," I reply. Apparently he was a good man before my mom passed, but I've only ever seen glimpses of that.

"My uncle asks about you, you know? He always kept a supply of your favourite snacks."

"Really? I do miss Uncle Wayne."

"You'll have to come to mine someday. I'm sure he'll love having you around again, as will I, and, uh, there's more we can do in a bed."

"You're a one track mind, Munson."
