"Hi... my name is Mina."

A gentle figure whispers at the front of the classroom full of unfamiliar faces. All of them are strangers waiting to become friends, acquaintances, or maybe even enemies to the new girl.

Chaeyoung for once looks up rather than down at her sketchbook to inspect the transfer student. She twirls her pencil between her thumb and index finger happily, as she comes to the conclusion that this girl has the potential to be her friend.

'Wow. Talk about visuals.'

The girl physically encompasses Chaeyoung's definition of beauty.

Chaeyoung gradually glides her eyes in curiosity staring at Mina's soft brown eyes on top of pale skin that is accompanied by little moles dotting her face. The girl has sightly wavy blonde hair nearly reaching her waist. Her posture insinuates maturity and elegance, despite her feet awkwardly posing outward. She smiles a gentle smile at everyone before looking down at the floor and fidgeting with her fingers shyly.

"Is there an empty seat Mina can take?" Mr. Park asks his students.

"She can sit with me!" Chaeyoung casually yells out in a big effort to secure a chance of becoming friends with the pretty girl.

Mina exhales a sigh of relief. She did not have to undergo the struggle of being rejected by her new classmates and is instead welcomed. She takes a seat next to a grinning girl.

---

After a despicable 30-minute literature lecture, Chaeyoung's boredom is saved by the bell.

The classroom clock reads 11:20, 10 minutes until lunch.

Chaeyoung whips her head to the side and introduces herself.

"Hi, my name is Chaeyoung"

Mina gives an endearing smile to the unique girl and fails to let out a reply as she's too focused on taking in Chaeyoung's physical impression.

Chaeyoung has a black, wolf cut and is wearing funky clear square glasses. Her fingers are accessorized with varying thick silver rings and her nails are coated in black polish. If it weren't for the school uniforms Mina is positive that Chaeyoung would be sporting an eccentric, vintage look.

[10 awkward seconds later]

Chaeyoung fake coughs into her fist to eliminate the silence.

"So what brings you to the notorious Hanlim?"

*AN: The Hanlim in this story is inspired by the Hanlim Multi Art School in South Korea*

Hanlim Arts High School is the number one performing arts school in South Korea that only the elite rich or talented can attend. Its prestige is internationally known. Any student who graduates from Hanlim is guaranteed a future full of success. The school offers studies that focus on performing arts while also offering a variety of extracurriculars and minor studies outside of fine art.

Mina lets out a tiny, fake laugh. The other students are clearly tuning into their conversation eagerly waiting for Mina's answer so they can determine whether Mina was accepted into Hanlim based on talent or money.

"I moved here from Japan. My father is a surgeon and was given an opportunity to be the head neurosurgeon at a hospital here in Seoul. I've been training in ballet for the past 11 years and I'm trying to study classical dance here."
