Chapter 34: Sucks

Nayeon's POV

[A few months later]

Her golden locks unravel in the air gloriously as tiny drops of sweat bead off her face as she flawlessly executes her turns.

I watch in utter awe, completely enchanted by her movements. By her I mean the love of my life. I simply can't take my eyes, or heart, off of Mina.

It's just like how it was 9 years ago. One of us waiting for the other to finish dance practice to walk together. Except now the roles are reversed, me and Mina are girlfriends, and I'm finally happy.

"Close your mouth before you start drooling lover girl" Kazuha passes by me with water in hand signaling their practice is over.

"How'd I do?" Mina walks towards me out of breath yet still poised

"Perfect as always love" I grin as she pecks my cheek

I wait outside the locker room for Mina to finish up changing so we can head home. After a bit Mina comes out in an oversized t-shirt, my t-shirt.

I offer her my hand and we intertwine our fingers as we make our way out of her company building.

"Is that my shirt?"

"Maybe" she giggles

"Don't you have plenty of your own Minaya?"

"Sure, but I like yours a little better" she winks and my heart does a somersault

Before we completely leave the building there were some paparazzi outside. These past few months Mina is on the rise to stardom as she was offered a huge role in an upcoming romance with Kim Soo-Hyun following the overwhelming success of her ballet.

The world fell in love with her beauty in charisma and I can't blame them.

And right on queue Mina lets go of my hand and walks ahead of me, while I take a turn towards a private exit where Cho will pick me up later.

The company doesn't want Mina's relationship status getting out, especially with what happened last time. Any talk of a relationship could create an unwarranted scandal that could also ruin her chances of stardom.

I'm happy for Mina's success, truly. But it still sucks being kept a secret.

I enter the blacked out Cadillac that pulls up.

"Did the flashes blind you too much?" I ask Mina who has her favorite pair of designer shades on now

"Not as much as your looks love"

"Sometimes I miss how shy you were" I reply as my cheeks flush with heat

Mina giggles and pulls our hands together again as she lays her head on my shoulder, her favorite spot.

"I love you" she says out loud

"I love you too" I whisper quietly as I stare out the window

[Another few months later]

I clench the roses in my hand as I stand behind the scenes of Mina's debut drama. It's their last day of production and they're filming the grand finale: the kissing scene.

Geez.

My jaw tenses as I watch Kim Soo-Hyun tenderly caress Mina's cheek and lean into her face. Then they begin a sweltering hot and painful kiss.

"Cut!" the director yells out

"Again, but with more fire and passion yeah?"

And once again I witness my Mina make out with a world class actor.
