Lena's POV

I was in the Super Tower building new inventions to help fight the bad guy. But I couldn't concentrate very well, because my thoughts kept wandering to a certain blonde. I wanted to see her again so I took my cell phone and wrote to her. When she answered me with dinner at 18h, I jumped up happily and cleaned up everything to make an end for today.

I said goodbye to J'onn and made my way to Kara. When I looked at the clock, it was 17h30. I was a half hour early, but I would just use it as an excuse to help her cook.

When I knocked on Kara's door, a Kara with a stained apron and messy hair opened the door for me.

"What happened to you? Did you have a fight in the kitchen?". I tried to suppress a grin. She looked at me cutely and murmured. "I wanted to cook you something special But ehmm," Kara smiled dejectedly. I looked at her questioningly and went inside. But when I saw the kitchen, my jaw dropped.

I felt Kara laughing and touching my chin and pushing it back up to make me close my mouth again.

"Be careful, don't let a fly in."

"What did you do?", I asked. It looked like a bomb had exploded in Kara's kitchen.

"I was going to make a filling and make it into surprise balls, but when I put it in the blender, the lid fell off.... so yes it's self-explanatory I guess...", Kara pointed at the surprise filling that was all around. "You forgot the lid?", I asked incredulously.

"NOOOOO! I was just a little distracted and didn't put it on right."

"What distracted you?", I asked curiously.

Kara blushed slightly and turned away. "I was thinking about you and whether you would like my surprise balls, and then it went WUSCHHH, and all the filling stuck to me and all over the kitchen. Ceiling, walls, floor..." she mumbled the beginning.

I had to laugh. Kara was so clumsy sometimes, yet so sweet and kind-hearted. I wanted to hug her, but she stopped me. "I'm all blotchy Lena," she laughed. I just nodded but was still a little disappointed that I couldn't hug her.

"What are these surprise balls anyway?", I asked curiously.

Kara looked at me with shining eyes. "It's dough and a surprise filling that I form into a ball. So I make different fillings and put them on the dough. Then I form a ball and let it bake in the open. Then when it cools a bit, you eat it, and you are surprised by the filling," she explained.

"Sounds delicious." I examined the kitchen, but I didn't see any balls of dough.

"And where are the balls of dough?"

Kara looked at me, puzzled. "I was too distracted and messed up. How about ordering dinner and movie night? I'll make you the balls next time I promise."

Shaking my head, I laughed, picked up my cell phone, and called the Chinese place to order.

When Kara saw that I was okay with the idea, she used super speed to get the kitchen back in order and then quickly went to the bathroom. When she was clean, she came to me without the apron and hugged me tightly. "Hey Lena," she whispered softly in my ear.

My stomach did a somersault, and my heart was enveloped in warmth. She didn't forget that I wanted to hug her earlier. She was just perfect and knew what I wanted. I wrapped my arms around Kara's waist and pulled her even closer to me.

"Hey," I whispered back.
