Lena's POV

I tried to reach Kara again, but it went straight to voicemail. Either she had no network right now or her cell phone was turned off.

I was fortunately almost at her house.

When I finally got to Kara's door, I rang the bell. But no one answered. I listened and heard that someone was there. So I rang again. If Kara doesn't open right away, I will ram the door open! At the third ringing, the door finally opened.

In front of me stood a drunk Kara with a half-empty bottle in her hand.

"Oooh. Haiii Leeeenaaa!", she slurred.

I looked at her, dumbfounded. "Are you drunk Kara?!". Kara looked at me thoughtfully. "Pffff no I'm not". I had never seen Kara drunk before. I didn't even know that she could be. Why was she in this state... Alex said I shouldn't hurt her more... was it all because I hid my relationship with Jack from her? Did she think I wouldn't trust her?

I closed the door behind me and went to take the bottle from Kara. "No. I need this to forget," Kara said desperately.

"To forget what, Kara?" I asked cautiously. "To forget that the person I love more than anything loves someone else," she took another sip.

Was she talking about Mon-el? I thought she had accepted that he was with Imra.

"Woaah I feel floating", Kara interrupted my thoughts.

"Kara, you've had enough. Come give me the bottle please" I reached out my hand and she hesitantly gave me the bottle. At least Kara did what she was told. "You can't drink this under any circumstances! Otherwise, you'll die and I can't live in a world without you."

I froze. Was that a declaration of love? Was Kara perhaps in that state because she had seen the kiss and had feelings for me?

No, it would be too good to be true. Not that she saw it and suffered because of it, of course, but that she would ever have feelings for me. I'm sure she said that because I'm very important to her as a best friend. I am important to her! Not many people care about me...

Kara was so drunk that she stumbled while walking and almost fell to the floor.

"Where did you get the alcohol from Kara?"

"Aliiien Bar"

"Okay, come on Kara. You need sleep and tomorrow you'll tell me what's going on, okay?" Kara just looked at me. So I gave her a glass of water to sober her up a bit and quickly wrote a message to Alex that Kara was drunk but I had everything under control.

When I finally got Kara onto her bed, she sat down in the middle of the bed and looked at me. Tears suddenly formed in her ocean-blue eyes. I immediately sat down in front of her. "What's wrong Kara?". My voice was low and full of concern. I came closer to her and brushed a strand of hair from her face. Kara looked deep into my eyes. "You are so beautiful, Lena. I love those crystal green eyes. Your smile. The way you look at me, hug me. Your look with a raised eyebrow, your lips. Your voice. The way you say my name I-I just love everything about you. You're so strong and so smart and I... I can't imagine my life without you. I..." Kara stopped and put her hand on my left cheek all at once.

My heart was racing, it felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. Kara just admitted that she likes me! More than like?! And I'm sure that wasn't just meant in a friendly way, was it?!

I held my breath and waited for Kara to continue. I saw how single tears left Kara's eyes.

"You are so amazing," Kara whispered and came closer to me. I suddenly felt her lips on mine. She kissed me so gently and at the same time so fragile and full of pain. It was a short kiss, but I was speechless and didn't quite know what had just happened.

"Jack is so lucky to have you. I just want you to be happy, Lena, even if it's not with me. I won't stand in your way." Kara whispered. Before I could say anything, Kara smiled sadly at me. She stroked her thumb over my lips again, murmured "yes... amazing" and lay down, dozing off.

I felt my lips still tingling from Kara's touch and my heart aching. What had I done!
