(PHOTOGRAPH LOVE IS OUT PLEASE PLEASE READ IT)
"Charlotte, come on baby girl, wake up." Lauren cooed softly. Charlotte grumbled in protest as she rolled onto her side away from Lauren, who was chuckling softly. "Baby girl, the girls and I have a meeting today."
"Why?" Charlotte whined as she rolled back onto her back to look at Lauren. "I thought you were spending all day with me?" Lauren smiled sadly. "I know, I promise we will soon, but my parents are also coming down today too, things are a little crazy at the moment. Simon wants us to go on another tour." Charlotte rubbed her eyes as she pushed herself to sit up as Lauren sat beside her. "Can I come on this tour?" Lauren beamed at the words that left Charlotte's mouth. "Of course you can baby!" She pressed her lipstick covered lips onto Charlotte's forehead, leaving a perfect print. "I have to go though okay? Have a shower, breakfast is on the side and we shouldn't be more than a few hours, my parents will be here around the same time as us okay?" Charlotte nodded and kissed Lauren's cheek gently. "Okay."
Lauren grinned and ruffled her hair slightly. And a few minutes later after multiple goodbyes, the girls left. And Charlotte quickly had a shower and got dressed into black leggings and a cream coloured sweater before going downstairs to see Jax was chewing his small tire toy. "Hey boy." She greeted. Making the pup bark and trot towards her with his toy in his jaw. Charlotte opened the kitchen door and threw the toy outside, watching as Jax sprinted out to the garden and somehow not fall into the pool as he grabbed his toy and began shaking it side to side. Charlotte chuckled and ate her breakfast the girls had made before calling Jax back in and going to the music room.
She grabbed her acoustic guitar and sat on the floor beside Jax as she tuned it. It took a while but soon it sounded obviously better as she began playing a simple blues tune she got taught by a bearded man in Texas. And within twelve minutes her fingers were rubbed raw and she suddenly had the biggest urge to draw something. So she put her guitar away and raced Jax into the garden before climbing up into her tree house to see all the walls were covered in drawings she had done over the years. She looked at them for a few moments before grabbing her pad and pencils off the floor before climbing back down and sitting at the base of the tree to watch Jax playing on his own and growl at his reflection in the water from time to time.
But the moment she got comfortable, she couldn't think of anything to draw. Nothing. She didn't want to draw flowers or Jax or the house like she had done multiple times before. So she pulled out her phone and began searching the internet for some type of inspiration when she came across Tumblr.
But that didn't last long either, but it came clear as to why she couldn't focus on anything. It was the constant nagging at the back of her mind about her Aunt.
Before her brain could catch up, she was back inside the house and I'm her room staring at the photo of her and her parents at the beach when she was younger beside the one of her and Lauren at the beach a year ago. Ot was so strange having the two photos together, her birth Mom and Lauren. And also on the desk was the card with the numbers on. Her Aunts number.
A living relative that wasn't her Uncle, that actually cared about her.
She picked the card up and went into her phone book on her phone and onto the number pad. She was so close to doing it but she couldn't make herself tap the numbers out of pure fear. What the fuck was she even meant to say? "Hi I'm your dead sister's daughter. How's it going?" No, she didn't think so.
She stared at the blank screen for a while before she finally muttered the words, "fuck it" to herself and punched in the numbers and pressing dial.
She brought the cool glass of her phone up to her ear as she slowly began walking around her room. Jax was sleeping on the edge of her bed making small dream sounds every few seconds. She even caught herself fixing her hair in the mirror before she scolded herself, "She can't see you Charlotte jeez."
