I sighed as I walked into locker rooms. I was absolutely exhausted and wanted nothing more to go home and sleep. But then I remembered the situation with me and Lauren and I couldn't be bothered to deal with it. So why not avoid it?
I was getting my shower things out of my locker when I felt two arms wrap around my waist, I squealed and heard a familiar chuckle making me relax and lean into my girlfriend. "Boo." she whispered, making me roll my eyes.
"You seem stressed, is everything okay?" She asked sweetly. I shook my head, "It doesn't matter." I sighed and spun around in Ivy's arms.
"I don't believe you." Ivy smirked. I rolled my eyes and rested my head in the crook of her neck. "Don't believe me then. But it's nothing, really."
"So why did Lauren call me and ask why you were ignoring her calls?" Fuck.
I hadn't been doing it purposely, I was focusing on Lin, the newest member of the climbing club. Fine she left an hour ago and Lauren had called me five times since then and those I had ignored.
"Are you two fighting?"
"Does it really matter? I thought you were my girlfriend not my therapist." I hissed and left her grip.
"Push me away then. But you know I'm right when I say you need to let me in!" Ivy snapped.
Charlotte rolled her eyes. She was tired and wanted to be left alone, but Ivy wasn't having any of it and followed Charlotte to the showers and took her hand, spinning her around so she had to look at her.
"Talk to me! Please I hate this when you shut me out! I know you hate lectures but you need to listen." Ivy begged. Charlotte ripped her hand from her grip and marched out of the lockers.
"Where are you going?" Ivy yelled as Charlotte marched out of the gym and into the streets. "For a walk." She mumbled back.
"Charlotte stop!" Ivy snapped as she grabbed Charlotte's arm and spun her around sharply. "You need to stop running away and talk! You can't keep doing this."
"Oh just fuck off!" Charlotte yelled as she tried to lose Ivy's grip, but Ivy merely tightened it making Charlotte whimper. "No." Ivy stated.
"Ivy please just stop...Please." Charlotte whimpered.
"Tell me what's going on Charlotte! Stop shutting us out and running away! We're trying to care for you and help but you're stopping us! Let us in!"
With another tug Charlotte got out of Ivy's grip and began sprinting away, of course Ivy was following closely, yelling at Charlotte to stop.
Ivy's yells got more distant the further Charlotte ran. She was running the route she'd usually cycle, meaning she was away from main roads and in a park.
Charlotte finally stopped running and leant against a tree to finally realise that she had gone a little too far and was in an area she didn't know to well and the sun was beginning to set, making her adrenaline from running leave her system and be replaced by dread.
Her chest began to rise and fall quickly but not in exhaustion but because she was having an anxiety attack. When she fished out her phone she saw that it was dead, making her limbs go shaky. No no no she thought over and over in panic, this can't be happening!
Reluctantly, Charlotte began walking back the way she came, trying to not allow her anxiety let her break down. She swore she could hear something walking other than herself, and soon enough she was alone and was walking in the eerie orange lights of the illuminated street lights. Her anxiety was really picking up as she kept looking left and right and behind her, swearing she could hear someone else.
