Charlotte couldn't hold in the small sigh as she settled herself down in her plane seat. Saying goodbye was something that never got easier no matter how long the goodbye would last for. She constantly missed the older girl when she wasn't around, more so when they were a plane flight away from one another. The older girl had a hold on her that she could never shake off and it drove her insane sometimes, going from being in an orphanage and learning to not get attached to anyone in the hardest ways possible to be able to get attached to as many people as she pleased had taken a small toll on her, mainly because she never really explored how deep her emotions could go for people, even with her small group of friends she'd never gotten insanely attached, or at least to the point where being away from them would cause a physical ache in her chest. It scared her, but she knew Ivy felt the same which eased her.

Even though the distance would only last two weeks before she was reunited with Ivy once and they never had to be apart again for a long while, Charlotte still felt empty. It was very clear that Ivy would be the person she would grow old with in some sense, whether it be as life partners or friends, everything they had endured together could and would never be forgotten or ignored. The girl was her soul mate. She would marry her one day.

Ivy was flying back to L.A and they were flying to Portugal. Charlotte sighed even louder at the reminder that she would be stuck on the plane for a few hours before they would land in the unknown land and carry on with their adventure, she hated flying.

"Are you okay little lady?" Camila asked gently once she was sat comfortably in her seat. She had noticed Charlotte's detached mood ever since they said goodbye to Ivy a few hours ago, but she had no good moment to ask her daughter if she was okay since they had to get to their flight and go through the regular procedures.

Charlotte turned to look at Camila and shrugged. She knew Camila wouldn't judge her if she admitted that she already missed Ivy, Camila would complain about missing Lauren if the girl was out grocery shopping or just as mundane, but Charlotte didn't feel like sharing. So she just rested her head against the window beside her and tried to relax, hoping that she would fall asleep eventually.

Camila, knowing when to drop a conversation, dropped the conversation and instead turned to face Lauren who was fiddling with the small screen in front of her in order to play a movie. Camila smiled at the sight of her engagement ring glistening in the light, and couldn't help but lean over and kiss Lauren's cheek unexpectedly, making the older girl blush at the affectionate gesture and grin shyly.

The flight went by rather painlessly. Camila eventually fell asleep on Lauren's shoulder and Lauren soon fell asleep afterwards, leaving Charlotte alone with a plane full of strangers.

She pulled her phone out and unlocked it to be greeted by a picture of everyone at her 16th Birthday party. She frowned gently as she remember the events that followed that day, how everything went from being perfect to being abused beyond belief. Her thoughts soon drifted off to the Groove's.

After the court case, Charlotte had began the slow journey of rekindling her relationship with the small family and had even spent a few weekends with them since. Her heart never failed to grow in her chest when she thought about her baby cousins. Megan was nearly 9. Lydia had turned 5 a few weeks ago now, she couldn't help but wish she was a lot more involved it their lives, and she was hoping that after this holiday she could go back to visit them in time for Megan's birthday and then visit a lot more often and stay for a lot longer with each visit. She wanted to give her Mom's some space now that they were engaged. She wasn't dumb enough to think that it would be a long time until they had children, she knew the two wanted to have children and that their families were definitely all for the two having children, so she wanted to give them space now, move on and come to terms with the fact that no matter what, she would never be their daughter by blood.
