Chapter 18

"Charlotte, wake up sleepy head." Lauren cooed softly. Charlotte rolled over and groaned in annoyance when she found another body. She knew it was Camila and immediately snuggled into her and huffed. Camila's infectious giggle could be heard echoing through the room and Lauren giggled a little too. "Charlotte it's your Birthday." Camila urged, "All the more reason to sleep." Charlotte mumbled out as she wrapped her arms around Camila's waist.

"Come on sleepy head, Ally made you breakfast."

The mention of food and the fact that Ally had made it had gotten Charlotte out of bed within six seconds later. 'Camren' could be heard laughing as Charlotte skipped down the stairs and into the Kitchen to indeed see that Ally had made breakfast: Waffles and bacon. Charlotte grinned and walked over to Ally before hugging the shorter girl, making her jump.

"Thank you Allycat!" Charlotte said happily before letting go of Ally and sitting at the breakfast bar. Ally smiled and began serving up just as Dinah, Normani and 'Camren' came downstairs.

"Happy birthday little lady!" Normani and Dinah yelled obnoxiously loud before giving Charlotte a tight hug and wet kisses on her cheek. Despite the face eating grin on her face, Charlotte pretended to be disgusted and weakly pushed them off, ignoring the teasing about how red in the face she was. Camila came over next and gave Charlotte a big hug and a sweet kiss on her forehead before saying "Happy Birthday sweets" and sitting down beside Dinah. Lauren sat beside Charlotte and pulled her into a long hug and kissed the scar on her hairline lovingly before letting her go, but not before mumbling "My baby's 16."

After eating a (to quote Lauren) a fucking amazing breakfast, they all went into the living room and watched a few movies before Normani, Ally and Dinah jumped up. "Go take a shower." Dinah ordered Charlotte, who was cuddled up in Lauren's lap with her legs over Camila's lap. "What?" Charlotte asked confused with the sudden burst.

"We're going shopping loser," Normani explained, "you still haven't spent the day with just us, so come on! Shopping spree."

Lauren felt an uncomfortable twang as she remembered that at the time Charlotte and the girls had made this plan Charlotte wasn't happy with her. She looked at Camila who was squeezing her hand lovingly as Charlotte rose an eyebrow. "what about Lauren and Camz?"

"What about them?" Dinah asked.

"Well, I would like to spend my birthday with my Moms." Charlotte shrugged, not realising that Camila was grinning incredibly wide at her referring to her and Lauren as her Moms.
The girls smiled at this but shook their head, "They're staying here." Dinah said softly.

Charlotte sighed but nodded before getting up from Lauren's lap. Once the girls knew Charlotte was out of ear shot, the girls huddled, "Remember," Lauren began, "she can't be back until four okay?" The three nodded, "I'm so excited for this!" Ally clapped, making the girls grin and converse more until Charlotte yelled from upstairs.

"MOM! MAMI!" Camila and Lauren looked at each other with confused smiles on their faces until Charlotte yelled again. "LAUREN! CAMZ! COME HERE!"

The two quickly got up and sprinted upstairs to see Charlotte was holding a little box in her hands. Lauren and Camila both knew what it was and allowed face eating grins to spread across their faces. "What's this?" Charlotte asked sweetly.

"It's from your Mom." Camila said, and Lauren felt her heart beat a million times faster when Charlotte looked at her expectantly. Lauren shook her head gently, "No baby, your real Mom."

"My Birth Mother. Not my Mom." Charlotte stated. Her eyes not leaving Lauren's similar green ones. Lauren didn't know how to process this. After everything that happened she always thought that she would be second Mom in a way, that she would always be her adopter, but Charlotte calling her Mom was making her feel all types of things, and she really didn't want her to regret saying it.
