"Attorney Davies, congratulations."

Tinanggap ko ang kamay ni Chandler bago ngumiti. "Congratulations to us, Attorney Farrel."

Mahaba-haba ring proseso ang pinagdaanan namin para lang matapos ang kaso na ito. Also, I'm thankful because I got the best team. Detective Santiago and Attorney Farrel.

He chuckled. "Ahhh, finally huh?"

May kamaong bigla nalang lumipad sa balikat ni Chandler. I looked over my shoulder and there I saw Maddieson, I creased my forehead and pinched his side waist. Napangiwi ito ngunit hindi pinalagpas ang pagbabanta dito sa isa.

"Umayos ka, Chandler." Anito.

"I am far older than you, Madd. But because you are her brother..." He shrugged his shoulder.

Napailing nalang ako. Ahh, these two. Samantalang dati sa pagkakatanda ko ay pinagselosan din ni Maddieson si Chandler, hmm.

Napatingin ako bigla sa kamay ni Madd na biglang humawak sa aking bewang, I bit my lower lip and looked away when I felt my cheeks heated. Damn, the feeling.

"Babe, you okay?" He suddenly asked.

I cleared my throat and nodded. "Yeah..."

Nangunot ang noo niya. Halatang hindi kumbinsado sa sagot ko. He faced me, eyes are serious and curious, tinanong niya muli kung ayos lang ako at kung may problema ba.

I secretly smiled at that. One thing I like about Maddieson is that he won't stop asking questions until I tell him what the problem is. Hindi talaga siya nawawalan ng pakialam sa buhay ko, grabe.

Tumingin si Chandler sa kanyang cellphone bago muling tumingin sa amin at sinabing, "If you don't mind I will leave now." Aniya sa isang pormal na tono.

Si Maddieson agad ang sumagot. "Layas na, ingat."

Napailing nalang 'yong isa bago bumaling sakin. I nodded, "Take care then. Don't forget my invitation."

He chuckled. "Yeah, big event."

big event indeed.

Sa mga sumunod na araw ay mas naging abala kami. Kuya Phoenix made sure the whole venue would be fine, my cousin Morgan assigned with foods. Samantalang si Maddieson naman ay kasama ko sa pagplano ng aking damit na susuotin para sa aking magarbong kaarawan.

I have also talked to my sister who is still in France and my dad that they should come home here in the Philippines. Huwag na 'wag talaga silang mawawala. Kaya noong nakausap ko silang dalawa ay sinabi ko talagang i-clear na ang lahat ng schedules nila.

Ilang beses akong nakipagkita kay Summer para lang siguraduhin na maayos at magiging maayos ang lahat ng mga ginawa kong plano para sa mismong kaarawan ko. And also, thanks to the people who are always here to help me. Mas naging madali ang lahat para sakin.

Kasabay naman nitong pagiging abala ko para sa darating kong birthday, ay naging busy na din si Maddieson dahil bukod sa tinutulungan niya ako ay sinisimulan na din nilang itayo ang Law Firm sa Baguio. He and his older brother work together for the development of that firm. Some teams of the same company go back and forth just to deliver materials to Baguio from here in Manila.

Sobrang hanga ko nga dahil kahit gaano ka-hectic ang schedule namin ni Maddieson ay pareho pa din kaming nakakagawa ng oras para sa isa't-isa. Well, the fact that I rarely go to his company, he also rarely comes home to his condo unit because he often stays at my house!
