The Tlhabane household wasn once again calm as weeks pass without Nthabi. She had left his office and not said a word since. Motheo had been very much oblivious of the happenings around him. His cocky nature fooled him when it came to that because he always thought that he had things under control.

It was a Friday and he was making his way out of the office as he had just knocked off. After picking Tshego up from the after care, they passed by the mall to buy some food for dinner. He always made it a point to give Tshidi some time to relax as she’s also back at work and Molemo can be a handful so, he understood that she needed to relax every once in a while.

When they got home, there was a car parked outside the house. It was weird because when Tumi would come over, Tshidi would notify him and she’s park inside the yard. This definitely raised alarms in his mind. He got inside the house and found the devil sitting with his woman. He cleared his throat as he walked inside as the ladies were sitting in the kitchen.

“Hey baby”.He said as he walked towards Tshidi and kissed her in a way that was weird. He was most definitely being possessive. He looked at Nthabi with disgust. “Can we help you?”. Not even greeting her. TShidi found this to be odd. There was a change in his demeanour and knowing him, she definitely knew something was up. She sat there, arms folded and analysed the two.

“Oh, not at all Mr Tlhabane, I was about to leave the office when I realised that you had forgotten a document on your table and it’s going to be really handy for the meeting you have on Monday.” She said with a smile. “Thank you, You may leave now”. He wasn’t even pretending.

Something that Nthabi didn’t know was that she was with two of the most cunning people and things could turn into shit for her before she can even think any further than fooling either of them. Without putting up a fight, she bid them goodbye and made her way out.

She had been watching their house in the few weeks that she had disappeared. Obsessed with Motheo and the fact that she’s carrying his child. She had to know who she was dealing with and to her, Tshidi was just a plain old simple woman who happens to be Motheo’s baby mama. She thought it’d be easy to get to her. Before she could leave, she sat a while in the car watching their movements from the outside before Tshidi shut the blinds.

Tshidi pulled Motheo to the livingroom as soon as Nthabi left. “Who the fuck was that and what the hell is she doing prouncing around my house?” Tshidi was irritated as she realised that there’s more than work that bring the two together. He looked at her and took a deep breath. “Don’t fuck with me Motheo!”. She threatened him and he knew not to mess with this woman because she can press the game over button on him and that will be it.

“Baby, Uhmm….okay.” He didn’t even know where to start. Tshidi folded her arms again and looked at him. She was getting pissed by the minute.” Okay, Uhm, This lady is someone I used to get with from time to time when I was still with Tshiamo”. He said honestly.

“What the fuck does she want in my house?”

“She says she’s pregnant and I think she’s trying to get close to you to probably manipulate me.

“What was she doing at your office?”

“well, Somehow she got herself a job there as my assistant, I don’t know how…Baby please believe me, I want nothing to do with her.”

“Did you say believe you?...Are you fucking kidding me right now?. This woman came into my home, she saw our kids and with that look on her face only God knows what she’d do to get what she wants.

Mo, I’m not going to allow you and your shit to put my children’s lives in danger. You either fix this mess or get the fuck out of our lives. I have put up with a lot for you and I’m not going to do it anymore”. She was adamant. “I will not hesitate to leave you if it’ll mean that my kids get to live a drama free life.” She finished.

“T, you know I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you and our kids safe”. He looked at her reassuringly. ”I’d rather loose it all if it’ll mean that I don’t loose you. Baby please….I’m trying here.” He was genuine. He was indeed trying. He had made a lot of progress when coming to doing right by her and their kids and she knew it, she saw it and she believed it.

She took a deep breath and went to check on the kids. Molemo had just woken up and Tshego was watching TV. She dished up for them all and they had dinner together but the mood was very much ruined. The night was over. After eating, They both did the dishes. Motheo was helping out because he was still sucking up at Tshidi but she wasn’t having any of it, Her mind was definitely far away.

She went straight to bed after that, saying no word to Motheo.

“Hey! Babe…Wake up!....Tshiamo!”.Tiego was panicking as he got her to wake up.
“What is it?...Ouch!” She winced as she tried to get up. Sharp pains on her stomach as her hand automatically went there when she started feeling the pain. “Baby, you’re bleeding” Tiego was looking at her, shock and fear on his face.

She looked down at the pool under her. She looked back at Tiego and started to shake her head. No, no,no,no,….God no!.…please!” She cried. Tiego held her in his arms.

He gently rubbed her back trying to calm her down. “Baby, look at me. We are not going to jump into conclusions until we know what’s really happening okay?” He said cupping her face and all she could do was nod. They got out of bed and he cleaned her up. He removed the bloody sheets, put them in the washing machine and let them soak.

He scrubbed the mattress as Tshiamo got dressed. When he was done, he took a shower, got ready and they made their way to the Dr. Both of them consumed by their own thoughts. TShiamo cried the whole way there and all Tiego could do was think of how unlucky he was.

He raised a child that wasn’t his in a marriage that was a sham. When the woman fell pregnant again he thought that he’d have a chance but no. And now he can’t even get the woman he loves pregnant? Was there something wrong with him or was it that he just wasn’t meant to have any kids.

Growing up, his father was his biggest inspiration and he vowed to be just as committed and involved as a father when he finally has kids of his own. And until about an hour ago, that could have been possible but he just thought that maybe God had other plans for him.

He looked at Tshiamo and his heart broke for her. She had no idea that she was carrying his child. She didn’t deserve to loose her child. He couldn’t bear to see her this hurt. When they finally arrived, he parked the car and went to go find her a wheelchair because he didn’t want her to get even more strained. When he came back, he held her hand asked if she’s okay. Stupid question but he was just showing concern. She looked at him and shook her head holding onto her belly.

“Let’s go inside and get you checked” He said to her and then they went in after she sat on the wheelchair.

Pain is inevitable. It’s not easy to get over but it’s a part of growth.
