The sunrise peeked over the hill of the volcano crater that surrounded the Fire Nation Capital, slowly illuminating the whole city.
Azula had remained chained and forgotten for the whole night in the arena where she had fought the Agni Kai against her brother.
She laid tumbled on the brink of passing out, with her face on the ground, and her hands red from the chain's grip on them.
It was only until then, that she barely noticed a couple of female figures that approached her and later unchained her to put her in some sort of wheelchair.
The Princess however, was too worn out to even try to make sense of what was going on, or to even move her weakened body.
Everything was blurry and all the noises the figures made sounded like mumbles.
As soon as the figures began taking her with them, she passed out from her complete exhaustion on top of the wheelchair she was put on, since she hadn't been able too sleep at all during the night due to her crying and intense emotional pain.
When she woke up the next morning, she was already laid down on a futon in the ground.
She tried taking a look around in her worn out state and noticed nothing but stone walls and iron bars. The temperature of the room was also very cold.
Azula knew exactly where she was.
It was one of the top floor cells of the Tower prison outside the Capital. The same one she had locked her uncle Iroh in.
Her royal clothes had been changed. Her hands and feet were held tightly by iron cuffs chained to the wall that only allowed her to move within the cell.
Her chi also felt naturally blocked, disabling her from even attempting firebending.
Not that the Princess even tried budging, she very well knew there was no energy left flowing on her body.
The only thing that kept going crazy fast, was her mind. It felt as if her brain was on fire, and she couldn't shut it off.
Her third eye chakra had become so closed that her paranoia and hallucinations were still out of control. Voices kept on talking from various different places, triggering all of Azula's fears and insecurities, all at the same time.
But she didn't fight them anymore.
If they wanted to take over her, she had no strength left inside her to deny them any longer.
Azula realised that this was as far and as deep as the dark pit went.
Her father, would probably be dead by now, killed by the Avatar. The war should had come to an end, and Zuko would probably be seating on the throne.
The rightful Firelord, in his rightful throne.
Meanwhile, the Princess was left alone and stripped from all the things she ever loved or wanted.
Two subtle tears came out of Azula's eyes even though she could've sworn she had cried herself dry last night.
Azula stared blankly to the cold stone in the roof. Completely numb, out of herself, almost in disbelief.
She had lost Everything. Her family, her throne, her freedom... her love.
What was she doing alive she wondered? What was the point of breathing anymore?
Wouldn't it had been better if the waterbender had killed her?
That way she wouldn't be feeling the insane amount of pain she went through every time she remembered how her mother abandoned when she was a little girl.
