Minho didn't know why it seemed so hard for him to accept the fact Jisung had ignored him now for three days.
It made sense, in a stupid way. Your ex-boyfriend is his worst nightmare, and you tried defending him. Of course it seemed so out of context,or over exaggerated.
Minho knew Hyunjin longer than anyone else, and trying to get someone to see him in a different light that wasn't him being an asshole ninety percent of the time was a rather hard goal to accomplish. So he let the younger have space.
Jisung was sitting in the library at the school, no whispers about his recent events have surfaced. He didn't know whether he should be relieved or scared that it was going to be used for blackmail.
Trying to focus on his tasks, it was 2:30 PM and sitting in the library on a beautiful frigid Thursday afternoon. He had his ear buds in playing his most recent song that was released to the world.
He had received alot of attention on his new song, gaining another few thousand followers. Its been a little over a year since he started creating tracks. It was the last year of highschool going into his first year of university who he started making his songs known to the world.
His serenity.
In his own little world he hadn't noticed a taller figure come and hover over his shoulder. Watching the younger work intently. He was just doing his school work, listening to his own song on YouTube*.
His concentration didn't go unnoticed. His normally wide eyes, were partially squinting, his eyes brows furrowed. Setting his pen down he went from his slouched position and raised his arms up, hitting something in the process.
His shocked expression made him freeze turning quickly to see who he hit.
That he should appologize.
Trying to appologize didn't go in his favour when he saw who he hit.
Hyunjin...
"..." Jisung of course froze. He knew what would happen, his frame closed in on himself.
He waited for impact, a hit, verbal aggression. The silence setting in when he peeked one eye open seeing Hyunjin standing doing nothing to him.
"I may have deserved that..." Hyunjin said out loud. There was no retalliation. He rubbed his jaw, pulling a chair out sitting on it backwards. His arms resting on the back of the chair. Shocked filled Jisungs expression, curious as to the sudden change.
Did he just? What did I do?
"Can we talk?" Hyunjin questioned looking around real quick as if on edge about being seen with the younger. Jisung too, looked around.
He nodded, fidgeting with his hands, looking down
"So... You seem pretty calm all things considered." Hyunjin said eyeing the boy.
He was nowhere near calm. Had he gotten that good at masking his worries and insecurities? Was he that used to getting hit by Hyunjin that it didn't phase him?
Jisung cautiously observed the older male. Pulling his ear buds out to ensure he gave Hyunjin his attention, not knowing whether he would get hurt if he didn't.
"About what happened..."
Jisung flinched hearing those words. He wanted one day to himself that wasn't trapped in the already illusive thoughts in his bedroom, now they were reality.
He went to speak.
"Just hear me out damn it before you panic." Hyunjin groaned. Tightly closing his eyes he opened them again with tears.
Hold yourself together.
"I didn't know... And for that I am sorry... I put you through so much hell since highschool that seeing what I saw, what I heard..."
Jisung looked away, he felt so weak right now. His worst nightmare was trying to appologise. He didn't even know how to take it.
'If you gave him a chance-'
Jisung pulled a scrap paper out and scribbled notes.
"Why? Why are you here apologizing?" Hyunjin said alloud.
"Because a part of me knew how cruel this world can be to people. When I walked into that jury duty, I wasn't expecting to see you of all people.
I wasn't expecting to see how much shit you went through. The horrible names I called you, the trauma I added to your plate. Your parents were sick... But I am no better..." Hyunjin said lowly. Jisung cocked his head to the side, as if curious to the olders words.
It wasn't like there were many people in the university library at this time. He whispered only for Jisung to hear. He looked around, if he was caught socialising with the mute with his new social circle it would become a gang fight. Jisung wouldn't have his guard down the way he does now. Sitting starring at the older.
"I guess its guilt that is eating at me. Minho... He was caught in my cross fire of hatred for everyone, including you. He was all I had... So when he took notice of a small mute... I broke. I blamed you for taking the one happiness I had in my life."
That was until he made it clear to Hyunjin you never had that either. That court hall... Not once, did Jisung have help...
How did you turn out like this?
When Hyunjin found out Jisung could infact speak it was when he was all over Minho. Hyunjin that night was drunk but for the first time he saw a look in his face that wasn't pain. The first words to him that he barely heard under his weak breath.
He liked the older, there was no second guessing that their relationship was different than everyone else.
Thank you...
Hyunjin read off the paper.
"For what?" Hyunjin questioned. There was no way it was this easy to appologise to someone who was absolutely scared shitless of him.
Jisung held tightly to his throat, it barely squeaked out.
"Sorry?" Hyunjin leaned closer.
"Saving me..." Jisung whispered, just enough before he turned his head coughing.
Hyunjins eyes widened. It was smooth, delicate, maybe a little raspy... But it was soft, so familiar...
"But I-"
"Hyunjin!"
Hyunjin jumped quickly, exactly what he was afraid of seeing his pausse show up. He heard Changbins voice.
"Look anyway Han. We can talk again later... Okay?" Hyunjin quickly ran off. He wanted his group to not know who he was conversing with. Pulling a few random Law books off the shelf, thats what he was looking for afterall before he saw the younger.
Thank you for saving me.
Hyunjin still couldn't process the words of the mute.
He thanked me... For saving him...
