The next day dawned with Deidara still sleeping due to his previous bad dream. Sasori thought little of it and busied himself with his work. He glanced at a calendar he had hung on the side of the wall. They would only be in this area a short while now. It would soon be time to leave to go on to the next area, but before the two left, they needed to decide which target to start with. He didn't want to throw this heavy conversation at the blond before he'd recovered but since they were leaving in 4 days time, waiting could be detrimental.

Deidara woke up and was able to move around much better. He was still in a moderate amount of pain but not enough to keep him from making his own meals to Sasori's relief (regret?) or finally pestering Sasori enough to allow him to help out with gathering poisons. Before he headed out to the ravine close by, Sasori caught Deidara messing around with the clay he had bought the previous day. The cheerful smile on his face was so cute. He wanted the blond to be this carefree and smile so easily all of the time but kept these thoughts to himself as they were weird and unmistakably stupid.

"I'm going out danna. Be back before nightfall."

"Alright."

Deidara relished in the feeling of being outside and having a bit of privacy. It wasn't that he minded being around Sasori; the opposite was true actually. He craved the redhead's presence most of the time, even when he was being bitchy. But he liked his alone time as well. He had the ability to be quite introspective while he searched for the herbs and other plants in peace. He knew they would be leaving the hideout soon and that the discussion for which target to pursue would come up sooner rather than later. After gathering a good third of what he needed, he laid out on the slightly grassy rock outcropping and closed his eyes. The sun felt good on his face and he could have easily napped there. Unfortunately, Deidara never could fully let his guard down in this area so he sat back up after a few minutes remaining on high alert. Though his life had been fraught with chaos and instability, he hoped one day he could live a more peaceful life. He didn't want to be bored and he still felt that the beauty of life leaned more on the chaotic side than the routine hum drum, but it sure would be nice to have a home and not have to watch his back 24/7. Home. Deidara hadn't truly had one in years. It had been a long time since Iwagakure had felt like home, even that felt like a place someone else had lived. He was so different from the snot nosed kid who cried to his mother about everything. He shook his head at the bittersweet memory.

He finished grabbing the last of the herbs and watched the small clay bird he had sculpted fly off into the setting sun and explode. It was a very small explosion but it brought a smile to his face as he headed back to the hideout.

Sasori had started pacing back and forth around the hideout about an hour ago. It was starting to worry him that Deidara still hadn't returned. The sun wasn't quite down but he couldn't shake the nagging feeling that he should go look for the blond. 'What if he had passed out or something? What if something had attacked him? What if-' At the last what if thought, the hideout door opened and Deidara stepped inside deadbolting the door behind him.

"Uh, Sasori is everything okay?" He easily read the tension in the room. "Here's everything you asked for." He unzipped the bag and dumped everything on the table in the center area. He wondered if the older man had gotten ansty to work on his puppets and been unable to do so due to his taking his sweet time.

Sasori nodded his head and pretended to reorganize everything so as not to have to explain that he was, once again, worried about Deidara for probably no reason.

Deidara quickly grabbed some food and put it on a plate then to Sasori's surprise, sat down on the table right beside the one he was working on. "What the hell are you doing brat?"
