"What are you doing here Diana?" He deadpanned.

"What do you mean 'what am I doing here'?" She yelled, bringing everyone's attention to our table.

"You know I paid for this reservation out of my own pocket when we were together and you have the audacity to take the reservation and bring...people?" She gasped, glaring at all of us equally.

"Huh?" Rafael and I asked at the same time while Cora silently played a game on her phone, pretty much ignoring everything that was going down.

"How was I supposed to know that you wanted the reservation and would even go as far as to show up here and make a scene?" Eric replied saucily as if he was the one who paid for the reservation.

The embarrassment I was feeling here was unreal.

This is why you shouldn't leave your house. For anything.

"Make a scene? Please stop talking before I murder you."

"I would really appreciate it if you stopped threatening me in front of my girlfriend," He muttered back.

"Mia? Really? We just broke up you bitch!"

"Huh, what?" I stuttered out, basically rendered speechless.

I was in no way Eric's girlfriend!

"Don't call her a bitch, you miserable excuse of a human being. It's your silly boyfriend who's the problem," Rafael spat furiously before Diana could take off her second earring.

"Don't talk about Diana that way," he cried, coming to his ex-girlfriend's defense.

What?

"Let's go, babe," Diana said to Eric, holding out her hand.

What?

"Okay, I have to confess, I knew you would be here and I brought Mia with me to make you jealous because I miss you, sweetums," he revealed and then took her outstretched hand.

"What the hell Eric?" I exclaimed in shock and embarrassment, my face redder than a firetruck.

"I'm sorry Mia but love makes you do crazy things," he replied with no remorse.

"Yeah, you're right about that," Rafael declared then proceeded to punch him in the face.

Hard.

"What the hell dude? You broke my nose!" He yelled out in excruciating pain, his face full of blood.

I didn't even flinch because what a douchebag.

How could James be best friends with this dumbass?

"Come on babe, I'll take you to the hospital," Diana told him as she led him outside.

After all of that went down, Rafael got kicked out for violence and I went with him.

I just wanted to go home.

Cora decided to stay after the bill was taken care of by her date.

She must have really wanted to taste that restaurant's food.

I did too but I was too mad at Eric and myself for even agreeing to go anywhere with him.

Maybe I was becoming too desperate for love.

I shivered as the night wind infiltrated my skimpy dress and caused goosebumps to appear all over my exposed skin.

Rafael removed his jacket and draped it over my shoulders.

His scent enveloped me and I instantly felt safe and warm.

"Do you always give your employees your jacket?"
