"I was wrong you know," I grimaced.

"About what?" Rafael questioned, glancing away from the road for a second to look at me.

"About us not being in danger anymore. We haven't seen the half of it. Mostly you though," I added and he chuckled.

"You really are terrified of me meeting your parents, aren't you?"

"Yes, I still don't know how you agreed to this without telling me," I glared at the stretch of road in front of us.

It wouldn't be long now before we got to the airport and got on a plane to Florida.

"Your mother doesn't take no for an answer, believe me, and also I don't think it's a bad idea. You do love me don't you?"

"I guess."

Not!

"So why are you so against bringing me with you for thanksgiving at your parent's house?"

"It has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with them. My parents are so crazy, and they say anything that pops into their heads, even sexual stuff. It's a nightmare," I groaned, hoping he would get my point.

To be honest, I was a little happy that he was keen to meet my parents because it showed that he was serious about me, but my parents were weird and I didn't want them to scare him off too quickly.

I would prefer if Rafael had met them maybe a year or two into our relationship when he was too in love with me to bail, no matter what.

Or should I say, who.

"I guess I get it but they're your parents. I'm gonna have to meet them someday; better to do it now and get it over with, than later."

I guess he had a point.

He was the one who thought things through.

I was the one who complained about stuff when I couldn't handle it.

I stared at Rafael as he drove, to pass the time as we made our way to Teterboro Airport; I hadn't heard of it before but I had a feeling it was the type of place where private jets tended to be.

He looked so hot in his black, long-sleeved turtleneck and matching pants that somehow fit him just right like the clothing was made specifically for him.

He had regained the weight he lost and now he was as muscular and well-built as when we first met, and he'd earned it because after spending so much time in the gym to regain his previous form, it would be a sin if his hard work didn't pay off.

"You love to stare, don't you," He smirked as he switched lanes, smoothly weaving the car through the light traffic.

"You know I do," I replied easily, changing the station several times as I tried to find something good on the radio.

Thankfully, the buttons in this new car were not as complicated as I had initially thought.

Rafael had bought another SUV, a Maybach, because he claimed that the Range Rover that he was driving before had been bad luck.

Even though I didn't believe enough in superstitions to fork out thousands of dollars, I had to admit, it was a nice car.

He had offered to buy me one as well but I thought that that would be much too grand a gift.

A car?

That was scarily big.

Maybe if we were married or something...but that was another scarily big thing.
