The five newsies walk across the Brooklyn bridge, on their way to see Spot Conlon, the newsie "king" of Brooklyn.

"I've never been to Brooklyn before, have you?" David asks.

"I spent a month there one night." says Boots.

Ally giggles at his improper grammar, before leaning over the side of the bridge with Jack and Boots and screaming at the top of their lungs to cause an echo.

Soon enough, they enter Brooklyn. Where newsies are jumping into the water. All the Brooklyn newsies look rather tough. Tougher than the newsies in the lodging house.

"So, is this Spot Conlon really dangerous?"

Ally is about to answer his question before 3 of the Brooklyn newsies corner her. One puts his arm around her and says, "Going somewhere, Ally?"

Ally tries to squirm out of his grasp, but the boy is just too strong. David shoves the boys arm off of her while Jack pushes the other two boys out of their way.

"You ok?" David asks her.

"Yea, that's just how these bummers play. They don't get many girls down in these parts." Ally says cooly, though on the inside, she's really shaken up. What would've happened if Jack and Davey hadn't been there? Maybe Denton was right.

"Hey. I know what you're thinking. Don't listen to that part of your head 'cause it's wrong. Remember what Jack said. "You're more newsie than any of us."" David reminds her.

"Thanks, Davey." she says, reaching over to give him a hug. He hugs her back and closes his eyes. Breathing in her scent.

"It's ok to be scared too. Everyone gets scared." David says.

"Haha, no. I don't get scared." Ally lies, turning her head away so that he couldn't see her blush.

"Whatever you say." David laughs.

They meet up with Spot, who refuses to join the rally for fear that the rest of the newsies will bail once things get difficult.

The five newsies sigh and make their way back to the rest of the lodging house newsies.
