After everyone finishes distributing papes to the kids of New York City, the newsies, along with Davey, Sarah, and Les, gather at the statue of Horace Greeley. After hours of waiting, no kids have shown up.

"So, when's the others coming, kid?" Kid Blink asks.

"They ain't coming. Ain't gonna be nobody but us." Jack sighs.

"But the girls, at the factory. They promised they'd come." Ally says sadly. Davey pulls her into his chest. Silently offering comfort.

"Come on, Jack." Davey says.

"Have hope, Jack." Specs exclaims.

All of a sudden, Les walks away from the group. Racetrack follows him.

"When the circulation bell starts ringing, will we hear it?" Les sings.

"Nah." Racetrack chuckles, "What if the Delancey's come out swinging, will we hear it?"

"No!" Les shouts, smiling.

"Attaboy." Racetrack says, hitting Les' cap slightly.

Suddenly, they hear voices in the distance. All the newsies, Davey, Sarah, and Les look towards the sound.

"When you've got a million voices singing

Who can hear a lousy whistle blow?

And the World will know!"

The work kids come from all directions. Along with Spot and Brooklyn.

"Brooklyn!" Spot yells.

The group of little girls from the factory find Ally, even though she has her hat on. The girl who had been playing with Ally's hair reaches up and Ally picks her up. The girl pulls her hat off, releasing her blonde locks. She throws the hat at Davey and he catches it, smiling.

Ally laughs and hugs the girl.

"I knew I could count on you'se guys." Ally says softly before putting the girl down and grabbing Davey's hand. The hat remained in Davey's other hand.

"The World will feel the fire and finally know!" The kids sing loudly.

Everyone starts chanting strike. Jack puts Les on his shoulders and starts walking up to the front of the World building. Ally, Davey, Sarah, and the rest of the newsies follow.

"Dear me. What have we here?" Racetrack mutters.

Seitz, Pulitzer's right hand man, along with a bunch of policemen walk to the gate and open it. Jack takes Les off his shoulders and puts him down next to Sarah. Davey quickly puts the hat back on Ally's head, covering her hair so that the police won't single her out. Seitz grabs Jack and Davey, also grabbing Ally since Davey pulls her along with him. Sarah and Les stay behind with the newsies and the work kids.

Seitz leads them through the World building, climbing stairs until they reach the top floor. Where Pulitzer's office resides.

"It's awful. Everyone's calling. Mr. Hearst, and Mr. Bennett, and the mayor in such awful language. The city's at a stand still and they all blame the chief. It's like the end of the World, only I didn't say that." says Johnathan, Pulitzer's secretary, to Seitz. Seitz quiets him and leads Jack, Davey, and Ally in.

Jack walks up to Pulitzer's desk. Jack pulls out a copy of the newsies paper.

"Extra, extra, Joe. Read all about it." Jack mocks, waving the paper in front of Pulitzer's face.

"I promised that if you defied me, I'd break you. I'll keep that promise, boy. Now, I gave you a chance to be free. I don't understand. Anyone who doesn't act in their own self interest is a fool." Pulitzer respond to Jack.

"Then what does that make you?" Ally scoffs from further back into the room, still holding Davey's hand.

Oh, these are my pals, Ally and Davey.

"You talk about self interest, but since the strike, your circulation's been down 70%. Everyday you're losing thousands of dollars just to beat us out of one lousy tenth of a cent. Why?" Davey asks Pulitzer as he and Ally walk up to his desk.

"You see, it ain't about the money, Dave. If Joe gives in to nobodies like us, it means we got the power. And he can't do that, no matter what it costs. Am I right, Joe?" Ally smirks, getting into Pulitzer's face.

Pulitzer snatches Ally's hat off of her head. Her hair cascaded down her shoulders.

"I knew there was something about you. You're a girl." Pulitzer sneers, "You newsies think you're so smart. How smart are you if one of your spokespeople is a mere girl."

"Ally may be a girl, but she's the smartest, most beautiful person I've ever met. If anyone deserves credit for this strike, it's her. She is the bravest newsie I've ever met. And if anything, being a girl makes her an even stronger person than the rest." Davey glares at Pulitzer, angry at him for insulting his girlfriend.

"It's ok, Davey. I bet he's just mad that a girl is smarter than him at his own game." Ally laughs.

This was the last straw for Pulitzer. He refused to be spoken to this way by a girl.

Pulitzer grabs Ally's head and slams her down onto his desk. Keeping her from moving.

"I sent for the police. They must be here by now. Send them in, Seitz!" Pulitzer demands.

"She's not going to jail, and neither am I, Joe. Look out here. Right out here is where the power is." Jack says before he opens the windows. The work kids and the newsies could be heard chanting.

Pulitzer immediately releases Ally to cover his ears. The chanting hurts them. Ally runs to Davey's arms. He kisses the side of her head where her head had been slammed. She buries her head into his chest, muffling her sobs. Her head had been banged into a wall just the past night by the Delancey's, and now into a desk by Pulitzer.

Davey smiles at Pulitzer's pain. Angry at the man for hurting his girlfriend.

AN: I didn't feel like writing the rest lol. If you watched the movie, you know what happens. Besides, all that matters in this story are Ally and Davey.

After Jack talks, more like yells, to Pullitzer about the newsies rights, and thanks him for using his printing press, Seitz leads Jack, Davey, and Ally back down the stairs. Ally is feeling better, as the pain has slightly subsided.

Seitz opens the gate. Jack, Ally, and Davey walk out.

"Hey, fellas, they're over here!" Spot yells, leading the newsies over.

The newsies gather around them. Asking questions.

"Ally! What happened to your head?" Sarah asks, pulling Ally's face to her to examine the bruise in the corner of her forehead.

"Long story short, Pulitzer didn't like that a girl was smarter than him." Ally smirks.

Davey and Sarah laugh.

"We beat 'em!" Jack yells to the crowd, Les on his shoulders, raising their arms in victory.
