Davey, Ally, Les, Mush, Kid Blink, Racetrack, and Boots sneak into the refuge gates that night.

Ally's head still hurts, but she can function.

They see Snyder lead Jack into a carriage.

"It's Jack!" Les points out.

"Where they takin' him Dave?" Mush asks.

"Only one way to find out. we'll meet you guys at the square. Ally, come with me. Racetrack, watch him." Davey says, shoving Les to Racetrack.

Davey and Ally run to the back of the carriage, and sit down together as it pulls off. After a long, silent, journey, they end up at Pullitzer's house.

Snyder pulls Jack inside. Ally and Davey wait outside in the shadows.

After a while, they see Jack and Snyder exit the house. Snyder lets go of Jack for a second, David and Ally use that second to their advantage.

"Jack! Come on! Come on!" David yells as him and Ally run.

Jack slides down the railing, taking off after them.

The trio runs into an alleyway, Jack slows down to a stop.

"Come on! Keep running!" Ally tries to encourage him.

No matter how mad she is that he lied to her about his name and parents, she would still help him with anything he asked, after all, he is still one of them.

"You guys shouldn't have done this, Dave, Ally. They could put you both in jail." Jack berates them.

"We don't care!" Ally says, taking Davey's hand.

"Come here, Dave. What about your family? What happened to them if you go in jail. You don't know nothing about jail. Now, thanks for what you done, but you guys get out of here." Jack says to them. Leaving them both confused. This isn't the Jack Kelly they know.

"I don't understand." exclaims Davey.

"I don't understand either, but just get outta here!" Jack yells at them.

"No!" Ally shouts with tears in her eyes.

"Go!" Jack yells back, directly in her face.

Davey pulls her back. He puts his arm around her and turns them around. They slowly walk away from Jack. Who is taken into custody again and put in the refuge for the night.

"Why is he acting like this, Davey? I don't understand!" Ally screams, frustrated as her head ache worsens and the tears pour out of her eyes. She backs into a wall and slides down it so that she is sitting on the ground. She clutches her head in her hands in pain.

Davey sits down next to her and puts his hand on her thigh.

"I don't know Al, I just don't know."
