AN: This one's kinda long, but its super fluffy!
Jack leads Denton, Davey, Ally, Sarah, and Les to the basement of the World building. Where he knows Pulitzer's old printing press is.
Davey puts his arms around Ally to keep her from falling down the narrow steps that lead to the basement. She's still a bit uncoordinated from the run in with the Delancey's.
"You've been living here?" Sarah asks as she scrunches up her nose in disgust. The room is very dusty.
"Shh. They're right above us. Weasel catches us here, we're all in the slammer." Jack whispers as he yanks a tarp off of a large object in the middle of the room.
"Alright! A Platen press. Looks like old man Pulitzer never threw anything away." Denton admires the press.
"Is it going to work?" Davey asks, skeptically.
"It better. We have a deadline." Denton chuckles.
AN: Begin song lol.
"This is the story you wanted to write, well tonight is the night that you can." sings Denton.
"Just get this done and by dawn't early light you can finish the fight you began." Ally continues.
"This time we're in it to stay." sings Davey.
"Think about seizing the day." sings Sarah.
"Think of that train as she rolls into old Santa Fe. Tell her I'm on my way." sings Jack.
While the song is happening. Denton teaches Ally and Davey how to put letters into a slot to create their story. While Ally and Davey do that, Jack and Sarah work on figuring out how to work the machine. Les gathers paper and twine to use once the story is done being made.
"See old man Pulitzer snug in his bed
He don't care if we're dead or alive
Three satin pillows are under his head
While we're begging for bread to survive
Joe, if you're still counting sheep
Wake up and read 'em and weep
You've got your thugs
With their sticks and their slugs
Yeah, but we got a promise to keep
Once and for all
Something tells me the tide will be turning
Once and for all
There's a fire inside me that wont stop burning
Now that the choices are clear
Now that tomorrow is here
Watch how the mighty will fall
For once and for all!" sing the newsies.
Jack rolls the letters over a paper which is laying in a stamp-like ink. Ally reaches forward and peels the paper off the ink. Jack, Sarah, and Davey watch in hope. Ally turns over the paper and smiles at her friends and boyfriend. Showing them the perfect pape. She hands the paper to Jack, who admires it. Sarah rests her head on Jack's shoulder, while Ally rests her head on Davey's. Everyone smiles at each other.
They keep making papes and tie stacks together with twine. Racetrack, Mush, Kid Blink, and Boots all come to the window to grab stacks of papes.
Once all the papes have been handed out the window, Jack, Ally, Davey, Sarah, Les, and Denton all climb out the window to help distribute them.
