RYDERS POV:
As rowen and I make our way through the Forrest, a peaceful calm over takes me. Finally, I can breath. We've been riding for almost an hour now and the town should'nt be too much further along. Gavyn told me it could be easy to miss but staying on the dirt path should lead us straight to it.
"How are you feeling king Ryder" Rowen asks.
"Really Rowen, there's no need to use formality out here, no. For the time being just drop the "King", and I feel at peace for now."
"Very well Ryder, we should be able to see the town soon enough."
We continue to ride on the path and I use this moment to take another deep breath and look up at the sky.
"The sky is much different here than it is in faerie."
"Yes it is isn't it, both completely different yet utterly beautiful." Rowen says wistfully.
"Couldn't agree with you more old friend."
"Do you call me old friend just because I am older than you? Or is it because we have an old friendship." Wow. 2 seconds and the mood is ruined.
Gods above.... Save me from this conversation
" The latter Rowen."
"If you say so" Rowen says in a tone that states he doesn't believe what I said.
"Are you tired, is that why you're getting cranky? It's passed your bed time isn't it."
"I KNEW IT! IM ONLY 20 YEARS OLDER THA-"
Cutting him off I say "look! The town is coming into view." The buildings are of all sizes as they come into view, though most lights are off, the closer we get the more I can make out the buildings and signs. "Ah over there, that's the inn and the tavern connected to it, and would you look it here, we can let the horses rest in the sable next door."
Sliding off Arogon a man comes out of the stables to great us "hello there travelers, the names Willy, I got space in the stable for your darlins if you want me to take 'em off your hands, inn and stable prices are inside at the front desk." Interesting... he's a lycan, he must know what we are and yet. The man stays peaceful.
Rowen answers for me while I head inside "that would be very kind of you sir thank you." I head to the front desk to find out prices but see that no one is there. Looking around the inn it feels...quite simple and comfortable.
obviously popular it seems as I look at the room key rack and see more than half of them missing. I stand at the desk and find a tiny bell that I decide to tap a couple of time and wait. A few seconds later I hear a high pitched tone of voice yell.
"One second sugar! Just showing a guest to the tavern and I'll be right with you."
I turn my head to see a petite blonde smiling at me from across the room just as Rowen walks through the front doors.
I reply with "that's quite alright, take your time please."
"Get everything checked in yet?" Rowen asks
"Not quite yet, the front desk woman is showing a guest somewhere first and then coming to help us after."
"Ah well that's alright the horses are all settled, Willy seems like a nice person, says he takes good care of the horses he tends, says it brings him good peace."
