Hidden Wonder

Regrouping

As Gavyn said, it takes us about an hour to get back into the town. We walk to the stables to see if the other groups are back and Yundor stays just at the edge of the Forrest with the beast to keep the towns eyes off of it.

We see a couple of people from the group waiting outside of the inn and they walk over to us. One of the guys walks forward to stand in front of Gavyn and gives him a slow nod. Gavyn throws a sound barrier around them.

"So crow.... Tell me what you've got." What an interesting name.

The fae male is on the shorter side and quite skinny with his blue hair cropped short. "Well commander... my group headed further into fae territory as per instructed, but we didn't come across anything except more trails, not many to suspect a large amount, but enough to be cautious." He says

"Mm... you'll show me before we leave here.... The other group? Where are they?" Gavyn asks

"Well sir....." crow starts as his hand scratches the back of his neck. "Only two came back, and badly injured, I thought it best to send them back to the castle"

"Only two? fuck.. what happened, were they able to give you information?" Gavyn asks

"Yes sir, they said they headed towards the vampire boarder, they found tracks and followed them all night till they were close. Though as they got closer they came across a group of beasts. Apparently they were out numbered, the beasts took out all three fire users. The last two we're air and earth, and water and earth. They said they did all they could, managed to kill the lot but were severely injured in the process, they could barely stand on their feet."

"Did they say which way the beasts came from?" Gavyn asks

"Yes sir, they were heading towards the boarder. He said at first they were just walking around almost mindlessly until the group was spotted, and like a switch in their mind they flipped to being savage."

"Mm...thank you crow... your group can head back to the castle now."

"Yes sir... thank you." Crow says and the  rest of the group hop onto their horses and head towards the castle. Gavyn drops the barrier and whistles to alert Yundor that he can come out now while the street is empty and the sun begins to set.

I can't believe we lost people... it makes me angry. "What do we do about the fae who died?" I ask Gavyn.

"Two of them have families, I'll have to break the news." He whispers.

"It's always hard...to loose  part of your team." He says "the only thing we can do is honor their bravery, this adds fuel to the fire. We need to find who ever created these beasts."

"Yes..we do."

"Crow... lead the way, Fawllin, join me." Gavyn says as crow starts to lead them back to the tracks he found.

"Shouldn't you wait?.... What if you find more?...." I say worriedly

"Don't worry firefly, I'll be back at the castle in no time, go home with Zin." He says and turns to continue walking. I wait and watch as the three disappear into the Forrest.

"Well I don't know about you but I'm ready to blow this popsicle stand." Zin says and I snort.

"Ugh I'm so hungry I could eat a fucking horse." She says and her horse chuffs loudly in the stable.

"Not you sweet girl... never you" she says loudly and the horse neighs. I laugh as Zin retrieves her mare who is a pretty pale blueish gray color with black hair. She walks her mare over to me and introduces her.
