"I'm sorry to bother you, King Ryder sent for you miss, I couldn't find you anywhere so I was told to check here."

"Oh, Kiera is fine please, thank you." I look around on her top to see if she has anything with her name on it.

"Feera, my names Feera." She says with a smile.

"Well Feera, is King Ryder in his studies?"

"Yes he's had a busy morning." She giggles and blushes.

Ew......She leads me down the stairs to the doors of Ryders office, turning and leaving right before I knock.

"Come in." His voice still sends shivers through me.

I walk into his office and make my way to the leather chair.

"You wanted to see me?" I ask.

"Yes, come sit.  I just wanted to see if you were okay, you seemed... frantic earlier when you went to talk with Cyphrus, and I maybe assumed you might seek me out afterwards." He says sheepishly.

     "Oh, yeah um. There was something I needed to talk to him about like I said, but it's all sorted now, no need to worry." I smile, definitely not sorted out in the least.

"Okay, were you able to check anywhere else out? The training grounds? Gavyn said he'd have no problem introducing you to everyone." At the sound of Gavyns name I go tense. And he give me a curious look.

"Are you alright sweetheart?"

"Yeah no problem here." Nope no I'm not. He gets up out of his chair, my eyes following him as he stands behind me, Placing his hands on my shoulders and pressing them down, moving his thumbs in a circular motion.

A moan slips out without my control and he stops for a short moment before continuing.

"Listen... I know this is a lot. I know this has been a whirlwind of events in the last couple days and I'm sure you're stressing. I just want you to know I'm here for you. Whatever you need Kiera, I don't want you to worry."

Most of my tense muscles seem to loosen and I relax, "I really do appreciate that, it has been a crazy couple of days but.... I don't have any regrets. also I have a question."

"Anything. Ask away"

"It's just about what Rowen said last night. About things brewing. I guess the whole reason why I was brought here, I want to know what's coming, what I'm needed to do specifically."

He stops his massage and goes to sit on his desk in front of me.

"I'll be blunt with you, there's a war coming. And with me being the only, well thought to be the only fae left who is able to use the shadows, it's been hard to feel like this will be an easy battle, Even though I now know I'm not alone. With the intel I've received I know even now, this won't be easy at all."

I listen intently hiding my growing worry.

"It's a group, formed with radicals from all species."

"All species?! Working together? For what reason, what is their purpose?" I ask.

"That we don't know just yet, I'd assume it's to take out the leaders of each species. Maybe just watch the territories crumble. We really just don't know. we've just sent out stealth scouts to see if they can get more information. What we know is they call themselves 'The One' and they have all species including humans.
