Heading home

I wake feeling like I'm on fire. Soon realizing that there's a whole body wrapped around me. He stayed with me?. Turning my head I see Gavyns face, he looks peaceful as he sleeps. I have no idea what time it is, the sun isn't up yet. I decide to try and untangle Gavyns limbs from mine, grabbing his arm and lightly lifting it from off of my waist. His top leg is bent and resting across mine.

Nice and easy kiera. I slowly inch away from him.

"Where are you going"

His voice is gravely and deep, fuck. I look back at him and his eyes are still closed.

"I wanted to refuel a little before we leave....and check on our beastly buddy." I say

"Mm...I don't want you out there alone." He raises his hand rubbing his eyes before they open and land on me.

"I'll come with you." He says

"No, go back to sleep, I'll be fine! I'm sure you'll know if anything bad happens."

He sighs and I stay sitting until his eyes are shut again and his breathing slows. He still looks sickly pale but his shoulder isn't leaking as much blood as it was last night. I sneak out of the hut and stretch, raising my arms above my head and bending my back. I sneak a peak at the other huts seeing everyone still sleeping. Good. My eyes roam over the clearing and stop at the ball In the middle. I walk up to it, circling it and making sure it hasn't managed to escape.

I head back to the front of my hut and plop down onto my ass, criss crossing my legs and resting my palms on my thighs. I roll my shoulders and my neck and try to relax, taking deep breaths. I then close my eyes and try to syphon energy into me. Depending on how everyone's feeling, We might be stuck jogging again so it'll be at least 10 more hours until we reach the town.

I'm taking any bit of energy I can get right now, if we get fucked and  ambushed on the way I'll need to be on my game. With zinnia and Gavyn still hurt and Yundor on beast duty, well... let's just hope we make it back in one piece.

I've been sitting for 20 minutes pulling energy into me from the elements around me. It feels like I shot caffeine straight into my blood. No going back to sleep for me. Still I head back into the hut, laying down and facing him. My eyes scan over him, his face is still dirty, both of our armor splash painted with blood and guts.

Ughhh I'm taking a long hot fucking shower when we get back......I want a fuckin steak too. I snort to myself. His shoulder, better than it was last night is like I said earlier, still bleeding. I sit back up and examine his wound more closely. There are three big holes in his bicep with gashes that connect from where the beast was blasted away from him.

I feel guilty because that was reckless on my part. But I didn't think, I just wanted it off of him as soon as possible. the skin is blackening around it from the poison. Flicking my eyes back to his face, he's still sound asleep.

It'll be hard trying to heal him while the sun isn't out yet, but it doesn't hurt to try. Hovering my hands above his injury I close my eyes. My brow furrows as I try to connect with light. It's like trying to wake someone in a coma. My breathing kicks up as I try to force my bond to wake. My eyes flick open, still sleeping.

Closing them again I push harder and finally feel it give. Though it's a small amount. I'll use anything, repeating the steps I did with zinnia, my hands glow. Though it's much more dim since it's not as strong. I lightly place my hands over his wound and watch as the blackened skin fades and the wounds shrink a little.

I decide to stop once I see the wounds stop bleeding. The gashes are still visible and they are still a decent size but they aren't nearly as deep as they were. His breathing is still slow, eyes still closed. I scoot away from him, my back pressed against the wall of the hut and my eyes glued to the ball outside. My hand finds it's way to Gavyns head and I slowly run my fingers through his moonlight hair.
