Im nervous, excited, and pumped with adrenaline as I'm packing a light bag for the mission. Honestly I'm still shocked Ryder even said I could go but, it would be stupid not to. I've been training, well, not with the trainees, but after Ryder said I was healthy enough I started battle training with him. I should've been training with both Ryder and Gavyn, even still, Ryder has been kicking my ass but teaching me valuable things.

Im nervous, and not for the fact that we might come into contact with those vampire Lychan beasts, but for the fact that I'll finally be around Gavyn. The urge to punch him in the face and then kiss him honestly is becoming unbearable. I'm still hurting and not from the injury. Every time I think about him my chest hurts.

There's also the mysterious "talk" that Ryder seems to want to have.... Though I'm having second thoughts about what the topic of this conversation might be. I pick up The Fae history book I have under my mattress cushion and brush my fingers over the leather cover. I've wanted to read more but haven't had the time. This won't be the time to read it either, so I shove it back under my made bed.

It's nearly time to send off and I'm basically jumping like a youngling high from a sugar rush. Wearing my fresh cleaned and polished leather armor with my scimitars and dagger I give myself a once over. Hm....I feel I need to add to my collection of weapons..welp too late for that now, this will have to do.

As I make my way down the stairs I have to force myself not to run down them from the excitement coursing through me. At the last set of stairs I see Ryder at the bottom grinning at me.

"Kiera" he smirks and holds a hand out to me to help me finish out the last few steps.

"Are you ready?" He asks as we walk out of the castle.

"I am. I refuse to fail, and if I am needed then, I will do what it takes to make sure we all make it back." I say in a serious tone that makes Ryder stop

"You are fierce." I can see in his eyes and face how badly he would like to kiss me, but the mission group are mounting their fae horses only 20 feet away. We still never really talked about... well... how public we should be.

"I believe that you will always do the right thing Kiera, your spirit is strong.....beautiful... it shines brightly in darkness."

My brows raise because the tone of his voice, it's like he's professing his love to me. Please we haven't said those words to each other haha, relax. He leads me down the the group, there's not many of us, about 15. Which is good for me if I need to use shadows to cover us.

"Which horse shall I ride?" I ask

"Ah....I seem to have forgotten to tell you.... With fae horses, you must find one that you feel a connection with, a strong bond. That is my fault, I didn't think you'd be going on a mission so soon, forgive me."

"Please Ryder, I understand no need to ask forgiveness." I chuckle

"So then... who will I be riding wi-"

"Me........as per the kings orders....." I snap my head towards Gavyns stern voice. My heart rate kicks up, but he still doesn't meet my eyes.

"I will not fail this time my King."
He says to Ryder and takes my bag to strap it to his horse.

"Gavyn, that's not why I asked you to share your horse.... You know what? Maybe she should ride with Yundor? Hmm I'll tell him my-"

"No!......no...it's fine, Kiera can ride with me.." so first he doesn't want me on the mission. But now he doesn't want me to ride with anyone else?
