So lately, I've noticed people calling me Author, Lady Author, Madam Author, etc. I kind of realized that I never really told you what I like being called. You can call me Ruby, Queen or SWQ. (Lady/Madam/Miss/etc) Author works too if you prefer to keep calling me that.

The Listener king was running, his cloak flailing behind him. He did not care to be quiet, his footsteps sounding loudly through the halls of the temple. He was careful to dodge the casual Watcher he passed. He was well aware that most of them stopped what they were doing and turned their faces towards his path, hearing but not seeing him. His invisibility potions derived from the blood of Children of Voids hid him from their sight.
One Watcher was daring enough to open his wings and begin to chase the sound of footsteps. He had no choice but to tighten the magical bands on his arms, causing him to shrink in size. His footsteps quieted at this, causing the Watcher to lose him.
He figured that they had begun talking about him by the way their hands had started wildly moving. No, that was a lie. He knew they were, by what was being thought in their minds. He was not focusing on them so the thoughts came to him in pieces. His presence was spreading confusion quickly throughout the temple, but he had no time to dwell on that.
As he approached the doors to the Sanctum of Seers, he slid to a stop. He waited momentarily for them to open, and they opened such a small amount that without looking for it, he wouldn't have been able to tell it opened at all. He pulled his bandages tighter still, his arms stinging with the sensation of decreased blood flow. He was only one inch now, just barely small enough to slip through the gap of the door, which slowly closed behind him.
As he exhaled, catching his breath, he felt his magic binders get just a bit looser, causing him to grow a good few inches.
"The First has left this place!" He exclaimed, as if the Great Watchers did not already know of such.
"Indeed. It was terribly sudden." One of the Great Ones whispered ever so softly, afraid of being heard. They seemed too calm, but then again, Watchers were known to wear facades.
"I took the liberty of sending your Champion to wherever The First may have ended up." The Listener said, his chest rising and falling as he tried to catch his breath. He leaned over, feeling his magic slowly begin to pool in his lungs. If he were to release more of his magic, he wouldn't have lost breath in the first place. He wouldn't of had to breathe at all.
"For a foolish being such as yourself, that was rather wise. Although, it seemed as though he was going to perform that action himself regardless."
"Is that not insubordination?" The Listener looked up, raising his eyebrow. "For beings that are painfully self-restricted, it seems such an action would be cause for immediate execution."
"Do not tell us what is and is not to be of our people. For our people are pure as they listen to our commands. They are not like you, who allow your subjects to do anything they wish without limit or punishment."
"Oh, right. Your hypocrisy allows you to act whichever way you please and call it just." The Listener spat, rolling his eyes.
"It is not hypocrisy, as there is nuance to everything." The Great Seer corrected, unfazed.
"But yet, fate must be followed to a tee unless it benefits you not to."
