Listeners

Description: Reptilian-like creatures with horns. Listeners have between 1-3 sets of horns. They can shapeshift and often prefer a more human-esque form. Their pointed ears allow them to hear anywhere in the universe. Some can even hear thoughts and speak into minds when in close proximity. Despite having a king, their highest value is freedom, no matter what the cost. As such, they are in direct opposition to the Watchers. Some wear masks over their mouths, afraid of being lip-read. Some will even blind their eyes with cloth (especially in childhood) to hone in on their powers.

Colors: lime green (main), gold (sub)

Lifespan: 1,000 years (10:1)

Location: TBD, though the king's chamber might be called the Echo Chamber

Leader: A king that often switches genders. Overall, e is extremely laissez-faire and generally a goofball. Really his only job in which he takes a serious role in his position is dealing with the other leader of the higher species.

Hybrids: Elves. They look completely human with exception to their pointed ears. The most skilled elves are able to hear everything in the world they are currently in. They often live in the woods in villages they built themselves. Like the Listeners, they have a culture strongly associated with music. A few wear masks, but rarely do directly because of the Watchers. Their lifespan is 200 years, or 2:1.

Extra: I decided that their color would be green just because Martyn's shirt is green.

Xelqua, that was his name. Miesall's friend. Sure, he was naive and reckless, but he was unlike any other. Maybe that was why Miesall had gotten close to him. Maybe that's why in that moment, where war loomed, all he could think of the safety of him, dare he say even before defending his people (and certainly before himself).

He had pushed him down without second thought, hoping that he would die and respawn far away from this place.

"Thank you." The demon in front of him said. "He has no part in any of this."

Miesall but his lip, nodding again. As much as he wanted to never agree to anything to such a wretched creature could possibly say, he had to agree that it was best for Xelqua to not involve himself (hence why he had killed him in the first place). He kept his hands firmly on his sword, all his gazes tightly fixed on Allec.

"What, cat got your tongue? Too scared to speak to the scawry Listener? Do you want your mommy?"He taunted, his eyes showing a teasing playfulness.

"I do not have a mommy. I was asexually reproduced using magic." Miesall replied out loud rather matter of factly. "But it is you who have a mommy, maybe hundreds of them. You are the only one of the two of us that can go crying to her. Do you need multiple of them to soothe you now?"

Miesall's accurate but sly tongue earned himself an arrow aimed right at him. He dodged it easily, flying into the air without even moving his legs.

"Shut it, child." The younger one snapped as the arrow hit the wall, immediately contradicting himself seeing as he had just told the other to speak a moment ago.

"I do not take orders from you." Miesall shot back. "Do you want to trigger a war? Confronting me like this is a good way to anger my people. I have spared you once, I will be not be merciful the next arrow you shoot."

"Merciful? No, I don't need your pity. Fighting is better than just sitting here and doing nothing!" Allec exclaimed. "Look at all these badges."
