'I'm Pete,' the male spoke out again. 'Dr. Pete Saengtham, cardiothoracic surgeon. But you can just call me Pete,' he added, with a wide smile and his hand out gesturing for a handshake. 'And you are?'
Vegas hesitantly stuck his hand out and placed it on Pete's. The instant their hands touched, Vegas felt a spark of electricity run though his body.
'I'm Vegas...' he spoke softly
'Like the place?' Pete said letting out a laugh.
Vegas scoffed and dropped Pete's hand, folding his arms and rolling his eyes. 'Fuck off,' he said, scrunching his nose.
Pete still had a wide smile on his face. 'How annoying?' Vegas thought.
'Alright, alright, I'm sorry, Mr not-named-after-the-place Vegas,' Pete said holding his both arms up almost surrendering to Vegas.
Vegas rolled his eyes again. Pete crossed his arms, pretending to be serious. 'Go on, introduce yourself. I won't say anything this time,' he said standing firmly.
'I'm leaving,' Vegas said turning around. He felt pathetic. Like he got played once again. Here he was all mesmerised by this individual and here he was mocking him. He felt like a fool. It angered him.
Vegas felt a hand on him causing him to turn around. 'For fuck sake, it better not be that twat,' he thought. And that's exactly who it was...Pete. Why did he even turn around? He knew it was going to be Pete, but he let himself be fooled.
'What now?' Vegas barked causing Pete to look shocked.
'I'm sorry,' he said sincerely this time as he placed his hand on Vegas' arm. 'I'm sorry, Dr. Theerapanyakun,' he repeated.
'Oh? So you do know who I am?' Vegas said moving his arm to the side so Pete would let go of his.
Pete stood form once again and nodded, causing Vegas to smirk. Serves him right for mocking me. 'Of course I know who you are, Dr. Theerapanyakun. You're the youngest and one of the most talented surgeons in the industry, I think everyone knows and looks up to you at this point...'
Vegas smirked again, 'Thanks,' he said and crossed his arms. He was caught off guard when an elderly man walked up to them and draped his arm over Pete. It aggravated him how well known and friendly Pete was.
'Hey, doc,' Pete smiled. The elderly man looked at Vegas and he just raised his eyebrows in acknowledgement.
And that's when Vegas had enough, there was no reason for this man to make the comment he did. It pushed him to the edge.
'Oh, so no lover tonight, Dr. Theerapanyakun?' he elderly man asked Vegas. 'That's okay, you could always someone at the event, I mean look at all the beautiful young women...'
Vegas scoffed and he didn't know what came over him, he just spoke, 'Actually, you already know my boyfriend,' Vegas spoke matter-of-factly. 'Pete,' he added and stuck his hand out. Vegas knew Pete was confused. He looked confused but Vegas looked at him with pleading eyes and he seemed to have gotten the message.
Pete walked over to Vegas and wrapped his arm around his.
'Pete?' the elderly man spoke in utter disbelief. 'You're dating Dr. Theerapanyakun...?'
