Soon the days that the went by felt like seconds. Then the weeks and the months and before they knew it Vegas and Pete were together for just over 6 months. And honestly, this relationship brought almost nothing but happiness into their lives.

Both, Vegas and Pete, decided to take this relationship in slow strides. They both were certain that they would always want to stay by each other's sides and from here onwards, every problem and insecurity they faced, they agreed that they would overcome it together.

It was fair to say that Vegas and Pete were in a sort of honeymoon phase. They tried to spend every second of every day with each other and if they were not in close proximity of each other, they filled each other's minds.

Things honestly seemed to become easier for them. The initial few weeks, working together was a challenge. It was definitely not enjoyable knowing that your lover was near you but there was nothing you could do or say that would give you the chance to spend time together. For both Vegas and Pete, medicine was their passion and their calling. They both loved their jobs, nearly as much as they loved each other, as so they knew better than to deny each other of the surgeries, interactions with patients and seminars.

But soon, they found a workable balance and work routine. Their shifts managed to align, and they made a conscious effort to meet every now and then just to motivate each other throughout the day.

However, that was just a start of this fairly big milestones in their relationship. Not long after, Vegas had invited Pete over for dinner with Macau and similarly, Pete introduced the other to his family. And soon, it became a common act to have dinners and go on outings together as a family.

For Vegas and Macau who had lost their parents many years ago, having Pete's parents and grandparents made their feel comfortable and safe. Pete made Vegas feel comfortable and safe. And this relationship was nothing that either of them had ever experienced before. It was so easy to love each other. They got and understood each other like no one else ever could. To them it was more than just having sex and an attractive partner, Pete felt like home to Vegas. He was finally at peace and his life slowed down. Things were just...perfect.

But it goes without saying that Vegas helped Pete in so many ways. When his family realized how important Vegas was to him, even his parents were approving and dropped the whole demand that Pete was expected to sustain them.

Pete's parents had even been so inspired moving to a new town that they opened up a business with his grandparents which became quite popular. And just as Vegas felt that everything was in the right place, Pete shared a similar belief that his life was as close to perfect as he could get.

It was pretty expected when Kinn and Porsche announced they were getting married. Even before Pete came into Vegas' life, these two were the 'it' couple of this hospital and were pretty much inseparable. Wherever Kinn was, Porsche was there too and vice versa. Not only was their love for each other very clear, but also how much they needed each other. From what Vegas understood, Porsche made Kinn a better person. He became less aggressive and did not drown himself in work like he previously did. He actually took care of himself and other people around him.

And since Pete had returned, Vegas and Kinn somehow began getting along. They often spent time together just talking after meetings about their personal lives. Kinn was truly happy for Vegas, but Vegas felt the same way towards his cousin. He understood why Kinn loved Porsche to the extent that he did and why he was so ready to sacrifice everything if it meant Porsche would never leave his side. It was because he would do the same. He could and would do anything for Pete and his family if it meant that they could be together for the rest of their lives.

Very soon Kinn's wedding was around the corner and even though Vegas did not expect it, he and Pete were actually invited. Initially, he even wanted to reject the offer considering that he wanted Kinn to be truly happy on his wedding and should definitely not have people who he had negative feelings towards there on such a special day, but both Kinn and Porsche insisted that they both had to be there. No debate.
