///Back to reality in the hospital

The next few days were hell for Vegas especially since Arm and Pete seemed to never each other's sides They were nauseating. Why did Kinn have to choose Arm of all people? Like there had got to be more unattractive and less charming people in this department that could mentor Pete?

Everyone freaking liked Arm. More than Vegas either ways. He knew exactly what to say and how to say it. He had everyone going crazy with his perfect smile and his muscular physique. Not to mention he was way taller than Vegas and those eye glasses he wore seemed to be loved by everyone and everything that could move.

Vegas knew he couldn't compete with Arm. Even though there was definitely feelings of hatred for Pete for leaving him that day, Vegas couldn't deny that he still really liked Pete and that he'd hoped that Pete somehow would like him back.

Vegas tried to keep out of everyone's way after his emotional breakout the day Pete had arrived. He just tried to lay low, and get things done. He didn't even try to work longer hours than usual because wanted to spend as much time away from Pete as possible. Not that he wanted to, he just knew if he kept seeing Pete especially around Arm, he would do something crazy and irrational which would cause a huge mess.

After that conference Vegas had put away those clothes Pete lent him and hid them so he'd never accidentally come across them. But since Pete showed up again, he took them out and laid them on one side of the desk.

Vegas knew exactly what he wanted, but he also knew how he felt about Pete. He wanted to date Pete. Those few hours they had together three months ago were magical and Vegas wanted every single day of his life to be like that. But he also hated Pete. It frustrated him knowing that Pete left without saying anything that morning but he liked him so much that he was ready to spend his whole life with him.

It had been a while since Vegas worked the late night shift. Not many people were on duty, just some nurses, the younger doctors and of course Pete. For most of the evening Vegas stayed in his office, organizing patient files, but it was now time for ward rounds.

As he expected, Pete and Arm were standing at the central department table, coffee in their hands and laughing. Vegas wondered why Pete never bothered to come and visit him or bring him files; he never tried to create a moment where they could be alone so he could apologize. Pete really took his outburst seriously that it made Vegas regret the way he acted. Why wasn't Pete chasing him? Did he really not like him?

The alarms went off and the computer monitors beeped, "Code Blue!" I dropped everything and ran to the patient in Ward 4 with the nurses following behind me. I jumped onto the bed and put my hands together, pushing down hard as I began chest compressions on the patient. "Please," I repeatedly say, "Please, wake up, wake up!"
