"I'll wake you up," Pete disrupted him. "Don't worry and just relax. I am not leaving..."
Vegas wanted to yell so badly. This is the same man that disappeared without word for 3 months and now doesn't want to leave him alone? What was Pete thinking? Vegas really could not understand...
"Just go, Pete. I'll be fine on my own."
Pete shook his head and moved towards the edge of the bed. He stretched over and wrapped his arm around Vegas' shoulders before pulling the other onto his lap. "Vegas, just take a nap. Stop thinking so much..."
His heart was racing at this point but feeling Pete under his head gave him a familiar feeling of comfort. It reminded him of that night, when the other had come back and they fell asleep in each other's arms...
Vegas couldn't help himself, he took Pete's hand into his, lacing their fingers. Both of them smiled, even though they couldn't see each other.
Pete placed his hand on Vegas' head and caressed his hair softly. "Sleep well, Vegas..." he said, causing him to hold Pete's hand even tighter...
Vegas didn't even realize how tired he was until he closed his eyes. Along with Pete caressing his hair, it was inevitable that he'd fall asleep so quickly.
Initially, Vegas was unsure of where he was the instant he woke up. Having not remembered much of what happened after the failed to resuscitate his patient, he seemed a little disoriented when he awoke.
He sat up and raised his arms in attempt to stretch but the moment he caught a glance of Pete beside him, something inside him clicked. He didn't feel as much admiration as he did resentment and pain. All the memories everything relating to Pete flooded into his disorganized mind causing him to be a little on edge.
Vegas stood up in shock, looking down at Pete, almost as if he wanted Pete to know Vegas was better than him, that Vegas would never do anything like he did. He'd never disappear from someone as if it were nothing.
"Could I get you something to eat?" Pete asked as he stood up moving slightly closet to Vegas. He didn't like this. He didn't like himself in times like this. It didn't matter how intelligent Vegas was, he still seemed to lose all forms of rationality the moment things came to Pete.
"No, I'm leaving," Vegas said, pushing past Pete. "Just stay out of my site."
"Vegas, you need to eat something. You were so tired earlier. How do you expect to function properly?" Pete further spoke.
"And why the fuck do you all of a sudden care so much? Why the fuck are you here pretending like you give a damn about me? Just leave me alone and stay out of my site!"
Vegas knew he'd regret what he said. He liked Pete so much but this was a limit. Nothing made sense. Nothing he said or did could help me comprehend what Pete was trying to do.
More than anything Vegas just wants to hold onto Pete and never let go. He wanted to tell him how much he missed him and that he loved every single moment they spent together that night and even though they were together for only a couple of hours, he somehow had fallen so deeply in love with Pete and knew there was no way he'd be getting over these feelings.
