Luke;

Decisions are hard to make when your brain is trapped in this fogginess of emotions. It restricts you from thoroughly thinking out your actions. It wasn't the best explanation for the concern who question how I'm molding my future, but it was the truth. And one thing I learned was that the truth never tasted as sweet as your mouth hoped it would.

My mind went into wild illusions of how tonight could happen and each one heighten my anticipation. I knew, I would do anything in order for Blaze to feel comfortable with the environment that would be so foreign to her. I also knew, everyone believed, if there was a scene, I would be the root to it. So, to say the least, it was a shock when the peacemaker of the group decided to break the wall holding back the tension.

When Tiffany spoke, using the name that would release a reaction from Blaze, I was aware the night was taking a wrong, but familiar turn. And I wasn't surprise when Blaze left the room, leaving us to glare at one another.

Calum was the first to voice his frustration. "Tiffany, why did you say that? Couldn't you just go one night without bothering the poor girl?"

Tiffany shrugged her shoulders, her hazel eyes captivated with integrity as she scowled him. "Are we all going to forget, Blaze left Luke. She left him fragile and I had to pick up the pieces."

"She's right." Ashton nodded his head, drinking his beer.

"Tiffany, that's not what matters right now. Tonight was going well but you had to say that because you didn't like that she was content with her life. Whatever resentment you have over her for three years ago needs to come to end." Rain stated, creating shock from all of us. "We are no longer seventeen."

I pushed my chair back, sighing before I announced. "Don't hold up on me, I'm going to talk to her."

There would be one day, where I wouldn't be engulfed by negativity and tonight could be a start of reaching that point. No matter what amount of a grudge I held from our previous breakup, I believed Blaze did not deserve the verbal torment Tiffany severed her. Blaze didn't have to feel guilty for what she did, because now with the full picture in front of me, I knew she needed this distance to rekindle herself.

Words lingered around my dry mouth, my feet rushing up the staircase, listening to the faint footsteps above me. A reminder of keeping my cool etched into my mind as I met the end of the banister. My searching eyes found her the second I stepped into the hallway.

"Wait, Blaze!" I called out, her head quickly moving to the left.

"Yeah?" Blaze asked, turning around to face me.

"Don't be upset." I pleaded, not realizing till my mouth felt the tone the way it sounded.

"I'm not." She stated.

"Yes you are!" I fought back, my hands pulling at my hair in annoyance. "Because when you're upset you fidget your fingers and you were doing that when she called me bubs!"

"Luke, I'm fine, I just need to use the bathroom that's all. Thank you for checking up on me though." Blaze said, pressing her lips together.

"Stop that." I demanded, irritated with her being dishonest. "Blaze, I need honesty and you're not giving me it. Tell me that she bothered you."

"Why?" She questioned and I groaned.

"Because I know it did!"

Blaze exhaled, the look of defeat painted itself on her face. "Yes, maybe I was a little bothered by her using the name I gave you but its fine. I understand you guys are together and are happy and I respect it and wish you the best."

I observed the gloss that slid across her deep blue eyes as they stared at my face. The situation couldn't have been easy for either of us, because it was obvious as we stood here bickering our hearts wanted to come home .We were each other's homes.

"Fuck that!" My voice raised, which wasn't intentional. "You know the only time I was happy was when it was you calling me that! Stop lying to yourself Blaze!"

"About what?"

"You know I'm in love with you, only you." I whispered, my body stirring nearer to hers.

"Luke." Her soft voice said.

"And you know for three years, I've been dying to do this."

When my lips felt hers, every doubt in my mind evaporated. Our lips connected, forming a rhythm that I wished would become permanent. The smoothness of her warm hands caressed my cheeks as we deepened the kiss, falling into this place of bliss. I found myself wishing I could taste the sweetness of her beautiful lips for eternity. My hands snaked behind her back, cupping the curve of her hip, bringing her closer.

Blaze pulled her face back, her cheeks blushed and hair disheveled as she smiled.

"You felt it too." I grinned, my breathing catching up to its regular pattern. "You felt the connection."

She kept quiet, our bodies still pressed against.

"We can't stay apart baby, we were brought back for a reason." I informed her, shifting a piece of her hair to the side. "It should have been you and I against the world in the first place."

"Luke," Blaze swallowed, her tongue peeking through the space between her lips. "I-I- you just cheated."

Our foreheads pushed against each other, the shame filling her squinted eyes. "Why do we do this, we're not good for each other."

"Not true, I declared, drifting my view to the ground. "You gave me this purpose that I can't receive from anyone else."

"You wouldn't leave Tiffany, Lu-" Her words got caught in her throat. "Luke you wouldn't drop her for me."

"I can't right now, which kills me." I admit, meeting her eyes once again.

"This is all messed up. Look at wh-"

"Baby, shush. Don't get yourself upset over something we can't change." I told her calmly.

"We have to go downstairs." Blaze said, pulling away from our embrace. "Your girlfriend is waiting for you."
