Blaze;
//okay so my sister is currently in labor so I'm uploading this from my phone so I'll fix mistakes when I finally get home//

We live in a world where the media guides us through shaping opinions and concluding decisions. We go blind to the destruction they create, not even realizing how they penetrate the innocent and praise the guilty. Looking passed the information they provided us is close to impossible because we grow up on the belief that to be safe, you have to listen to them. And today, as my eyes focused on the pictures sliding across my screen I knew the media was in fact out to get me.

"An insider states that Luke Hemmings, who is in these old photos with his former girlfriend Blaze Winters had cheated on Tiffany Jones many times with her. Now, the 5sos fam have gone completely wild, seeing in some of these photos that Luke was in fact holding joints and covered in what appear to be hickes-"

"Turn it off." I ordered, my grandmother complying easily as the screen went blank.

My weary eyes concentrated on the tapping of my fingers as I exhaled profoundly. The lump in my throat caused no words to escape from my frown as I felt my nana's apprehensive eyes stare at me. I flinched at the touch of her warm hand as it slid against my back, her reminder that I would pull through from this time of confusion and betrayal.

"Why did I even think that my past was my past?" I rubbed my forehead, distress clear on my face.

"It is Blaze." With a small smile she assured me, sitting on a stool.

"No. Because now I have about 10 million people viewing me as the drunken slut I was for about three years." I sneered, wiping away a tear.

"And what about Luke? When they find out about my suicide attempts everyone will look at him differently. I-I just always find ways to ruin people's lives, don't I?" I mumbled.

My nana shook her head, with her hazel eyes watery she stated. "You have impacted lives. You didn't ruin, you simply showed reality and people reacted in different ways."

The soft words the emitted from her grin brushed past me, not strong enough to fight the guilt that blanketed over me. My elbows pressed onto the table, my head using the support of my hands as I looked down. I closed my eyes tightly, not wanting to release anymore tears in front of a woman who defined the word strength with her actions.

My thoughts wandered off to a boy with blue eyes and blonde hair that I once shared these past moments so intimately with. I was lost in the fact of not knowing what information he held and worried with how he would handle it.

"I should call Luke." I said, reaching out for my device that created a rhythm of vibrations.

Bringing the phone to my ear, I was quick to receive a response. "Hey Bubs."

" Hi Luke." I said distantly, staring at my chipped nails.

"What's up?" He asked, the sound of honks filling the receiver.

"Can you stop by?" I asked.

"Well I'm kind of in a rush, I have a meeting with my manager." He explained. "Oh my fucking God it's a right lane!" I heard Luke groan.

"Trust me, stopping by won't be a mistake."

"Blaze-" Luke whined.

"Luke, just trust me." I pleaded, noticing a strange look from my grandmother.

"Fine, only because I love you. I'll be there in five minutes."

And with that, the call went silent.

My grandmother raised from her seat, sauntering towards the coffee pot that rested towards the muffins. I watched as she poured the steaming liquid into a cup, then proceeded to mix it with milk and sugar. A smile crinkled her hazel eyes as she brought the mug towards me.

I took a small sip before sighing. "Please be nice to him." I pleaded to my grandmother who shook her head.

"If you can look past his abusive behaviors, then so can I." She stated, before the sound of footsteps reached the kitchen.

"Hello." Luke smiled, stepping in my grandmother's direction. "It's very nice to meet you."

"Same for you, call me Amy."

"I assume you haven't checked Twitter or anything yet." I said, starting the conversation.

My grandmother gestured Luke to sit and he did, next to me. "No, should I?"

"The media discovered old photos of us, you know like at Michael's parties..."

Luke's eyes widened, his lips separating in shock. "I-I-I... I didn't know- how- who the hell found them?" Luke asked.

"Well I wish I could tell you, but my phone hasn't stopped blowing up since four in the damn morning." I rolled my eyes, the exhaustion catching up to my emotions.

Luke frowned. "I'll go find out, I will fix this. I'll stop by tonight and we'll adjust the settings on your phone, okay?"

I shook my head, still uneasy with the idea that our past was slowly being dug up. "Okay."
