Chapter 28: War Begins

"Are you sure you would be fine by yourself?"

Takamiya asked as he watched Hiroto get ready to save Miku from DEM's pursuit. Making her feel worried for Hiroto, who decided to go there himself without needing any external help.

"Yes, I'm sure... just stay at home and I'll come back with Miku. Just protect the other spirits in case DEM ambushes this place"

Hiroto said while turning towards her and showing an assuring smile on his face. Walking towards her and leaned closer to kiss her on the lips.

"Hiroto... be careful, alright?"

Takamiya asked, causing Hiroto to caress her hair before giving her a peck on the forehead to comfort her. Making Takamiya look at him with a hint of hesitation in her eyes.

"I will be fine and... this is the only way I can show her... how much she means to me and... how I genuinely just want to protect her"

He said before two wings of blue flames appeared on his back. Making him flash one last smile in her direction before walking towards the window. Looking back at Mio who had her hands clasped together as if she was praying for his safety.

"I'll be back"

He said before he opened the window and flew into the sky. Holding a sheathed katana in his hand before his expression slowly turned serious. All because he now needs to have confrontations with DEM in this mission. Making him focus on his mind and body. Removing all unnecessary thoughts in his mind and all of it was replaced by one thought. Save Miku no matter the cost.

Miku said as she looked around the now desolate city. "Don't let her escape!!!"

The girl wearing an advanced mechanical suit orders, causing an army of humanoid robots, called Bandersnatch, equipped with a variety of weaponry to chase after her. Making them immediately activate their rocket thrusters before charging toward her.

"How persistent!!"

She angrily exclaimed before she cleared her voice and got ready to sing. Making the bandersnatchs increase their acceleration before firing hundreds of missiles in her direction, causing her to hurriedly sang a soft tune before the soundwave she produced started to condense around her. Creating an invisible barrier around her as the barrage of missiles detonated as soon as it made contact with the barrier.

Sending Miku flying downwards due to the great impact of those barrage of explosions placed on her barrier. Making her crash against the floor before looking up with a pale complexion on her face.

"Michael!!"

She called out before a large pipe organ appeared behind her. Looking up at her pursuers before he brought down her fingers on the keyboard in front of her.

"Rondo!!"

She recited as a piece of powerful and overbearing music echoed across the entire area. A move that was specifically designed to restrain her opponents, but had no effect, causing her arms to quiver.

"W-Why isn't it working!?"

She exclaimed before a rain of bullets fell in her direction. Making her press the keys of the organ before a large barrier of sound waves appeared around her. Blocking all of their attacks before a wizard crashed to the ground and rushed towards her direction. Raising a blade of concentrated energy above her head and slashing it in Miku's direction.
