Earlier today, Pope and I had agreed to meet at eight tonight so we would get good seats for the movie. The film wouldn't start before nine, but movies were a deadly serious subject for my friend and me, especially Marvel movies. Him and I were the only ones of our group to love Marvel so much. JJ and John B liked it too for sure, but not as much as Pope and I. And I'm not even talking about Sarah and Kie. Sarah was more of a rom-com girl, and Kie, well, she would point every waste of money spent for the movies, so we dropped out the idea of making her like it.

So tonight, it would only be Pope and I, the Marvel besties. It made me happy because I didn't get to spend that much time with him since I returned to the OBX. And I missed my usual movie and book reviews with him.

When I finally arrived at the outdoor cinema, I spotted Pope already sitting in front of the screen. I checked my phone, half past eight. I hated to be late, but I had to drop Joy at her best-friend's house tonight at the last minute.

"Hey!" I greeted my friend, once I reached where he was sitting. "You got the best seats!" I realized, looking around us.

        "Always." He replied proudly.

I dropped my bag next to my chair and turned my head towards Pope. "I'm starving. I'm gonna get a hot-dog at the truck. Do you want anything?"

He shook his head. "No thanks."

"Pope, c'mon. You know I won't be taking no for an answer." I eyed him.

My friend sighed, but I kept my eyes on him and crossed my arms, waiting for him to answer me. "Alriiight." He dragged the word, raising his hand in surrender. "Then I would love to eat a hot-dog too."

Satisfied from his response, I smiled. "Great!" I said as I left towards the truck.

Once I got near it, I realized there was a long queue. So I just hoped that I would be served before the movie start. While I was waiting, I heard familiar voices calling my name. "Oi! Lexi!"

I looked in direction of the voices and noticed Kelce and Topper approaching me. I sighed and rolled my eyes before they could notice it. I liked them and I was happy to see them, but I knew the missing member of the Kooky Trinity wouldn't take long to appear.

I greeted them back once they got close to me. We started chatting as I waited in the queue. At least, they kept me busy.

Some minutes passed by before the missing Kook joined his friends. Seeing him, I bit my inside cheek to prevent any emotion on my face.

"Hey, guys where were you? I found three se-" He stopped when he noticed me with the boys. "Oh, huh, hi Lexi." He stammered.
