"What do mean Mikey's child?!" Sanzu exclaimed, in pure shock.
The executives were still in the VIP waiting room, ready to bring Mochi home to be taken care of there. However, right now, it seemed to be the least of their worries, even to Mochi himself. What Takeomi had just told them was far more shocking. They all glanced at their boss, waiting for him to confirm or deny the information. But Mikey did not budge. He stay silent, sitting on the couch and leaning on his knees as he stared at the carpeted floor.
"Well, I mean his child! His kid! His flesh and blood! His descendant!" Takeomi exclaimed back.
"But how's that possible?" Koko breathed, completely flabbergasted.
"You know, when two people love each other a lot-" Ran joked but was soon interrupted by Koko who had rolled his eyes.
"I know how kids are made, you fucking idiot!" Koko glared at him and Ran only laughed. "What I mean is when did he even find the time to see Sakiko?"
"The child doesn't appear to be older than four," Takeomi informed.
"So he's seen her four years ago or so?" Sanzu voiced.
"Obviously," Rindou said which caused Sanzu to glare at him.
"That night you disappeared in late 2013, you were with her?" Kakucho asked Mikey, though it sounded more like a statement. But Mikey again stayed silent.
Kakucho remembered one day in October or November five years ago. Mikey had vanished for the entire day, surprising the executives as he was always accompanied by either his second or third in command. But that day, it appeared that Mikey had snuck out. He hadn't reappeared until the following day, early in the morning. The executives had freaked out when they couldn't find their boss. They had never known what happened to him that day. Until today.
"Well, obviously," Rindou shrugged. Kakucho suppressed the urge to roll his eyes. "And they fucked," he added.
"Yeah, obviously," Sanzu shot back with a smirk. This time, Rindou rolled his eyes.
"Can you be serious for a goddam minute?!" Kakucho snapped. He then inhaled sharply, trying to calm down.
The situation was more problematic than it appeared. If Mikey would have been a normal man, it wouldn't be a problem. But Mikey was no normal man. He was the leader of a yakuza gang. So having a child, if known, was a liability. She could be used against him. But that was not what worried Kakucho. What worried him the most was the emotional state of his boss. He just found out he was the father of a four years old girl. Responsibility appeared over his head out of nowhere. He was the father of a child. Never in his life, Mikey had thought it would have happened. But Kakucho was also worried for the child herself. If she ever finds out about the line of work her father does, her life would change forever.
"What are you going to do about the child?" Kakucho asked Mikey. The latter tensed a bit but kept quiet. It was a question he had been asking himself nonstop for the past minutes.
"He cannot claim that kid," Sanzu firmly said, bringing attention to him.
"She's his child," Koko stressed. "Do you expect him to ignore her existence? His own daughter?"
"But we're criminals," Mochi pointed out. "If Mikey gets closer to her, she might get involved,"
"She's a liability," Sanzu continued. "She's a weakness and Bonten has no weaknesses. If Mikey recognizes her as his own, it brings us a lot of trouble. We have already enough to deal with,"
"Easier said than done," Kakucho frowned at how cynical Sanzu was, though it was not surprising. "You're not the one who just found out you have a daughter. And not just a newborn! A four-year-old!"
