"Mama, you're out!"

Sakiko's lips curled up as she stepped out of the hospital. She had just finished the paperwork at the front desk and was now officially released from the hospital after two weeks. The patient gowns she had been wearing were no more. Now, she could finally dress as she wished. But what really brought her joy was that she could finally spend time with her beloved daughter, as well as come back to her cozy apartment. The personnel of the hospital had been very kind to her but she missed her daughter and home more than anything else. Besides staying on the bed and occasionally walking in the garden, she couldn't do much. Now she could go back to her normal life.

"Look! We got you sweets and flowers!" Emari exclaimed, holding a box of chocolates in her hands.

Both Draken and Emari came to pick Sakiko up. On the way, they bought chocolates and a bouquet of flowers to celebrate her finished time at the hospital. Obviously, Draken paid but it was Emari's idea. She was overjoyed at the idea to recover her mom. She loved living with Uncle Ken-chin, it was a lot of fun and he took good care of her. But she missed her mom a lot and wanted to be with her. So Sakiko now that she was released from the hospital, it was a celebration day for Emari. She even pampered herself and was wearing her most beautiful dress and had washed her Mary Jane shoes for the occasion, making the lacquer shine brighter!

"Thank you, my angel!" Sakiko widely smiled as she engulfed her daughter in a big warm hug.

Emari laughed as she wrapped her tiny arms around Sakiko's neck and gave her a fond kiss on the cheek. The mother smiled even more and returned the kiss. Oh, how she had missed hugging her daughter like this. With a splint on her shoulder, hugs were different. Now she could trap the child in both her arms and cover her with kisses. Neither Sakiko nor Emari had been away from each other for so long. Even though Draken brought Emari every day, it was still not the same. Sakiko was so used to waking up and hearing Emari voice as the first sound of the day, and to go to sleep with her voice as the last thing she heard. And that routine was none for the past two weeks. Not spending good quality time with her daughter must have been the worst part of the convalescence.

"Thank you, Ken-chin, for taking care of her when I couldn't," Sakiko gratefully said as she stood up, Emari in her arms.

Her shoulder had recovered though the doctor said not to force too much on it, just in case. She still needed to do some exercise for her shoulder to be fully operational and occasionally meet with the doctor for check-in.

"No need to thank me. You know I'll always be there if you need me," Draken shrugged it off as his arm around Sakiko's shoulder, giving her a side hug. "Happy you're out, Saki,"

Sakiko returned the hug before Draken led them to his car. Before going straight home, they stopped at fast food restaurant. It was past twelve and they were starting to get hungry. It felt really good to Sakiko to be finally out of the hospital and enjoying time with the people she loved the most. Being there, sitting at a fast food chain restaurant while joyfully listening to her daughter and best friend's stories. It appeared that cohabitation had not been difficult at all. According to Draken, Emari had been very easy to live with and incredibly funny. She would always listen to him and even tried to help him with house chores. Though, it did not really work. Once, Draken was cleaning the house and Emari wanted to help. She tried to clean the floor though she tripped on the pot of water and splashed it everywhere. Draken was not mad at all, instead, he was laughing quite a lot when Emari was panicking trying to dry the water. Eventually, Draken told the kid to sit on the couch and watch TV while he would do the cleaning. Emari obliged, realizing that what her mom does every week was not as easy as it seemed. The cohabitation between Draken and Emari was quite eventful at times, but the man appreciated it. The child had been adding more life to his usually so calm and silent duplex.
