Arely's POV

One week later...

"Bitch we graduating next week!!!" Faith jumped up and down next to me.

"I can't fucking wait. No more waking up early, no more homework.... We don't even have to step foot back in this place." I was happy.

"Santos wants to go on a trip or something... he planning all big because he been making all this money I ain't been seeing" she rolled her eyes.

"Still?"

"Yeah... he's been on his own since he was in middle school and I figured with time he'd leave the streets alone but I guess I'm sadly mistaken"

"He will soon. He's gonna realize that it's not for him anymore."

"I hope he does before it kills him" Faith shook her head.

"Let's not be sad though, it's not worth it"

She smiled trying her best not to let Santos' lifestyle affect her mood.

"How are you feeling?"
she asked pointing at my stomach.

"I'm fine. I'm not even showing yet."

"But you have a bump, I can tell."

"I know I do, I'm scared"

"Why?" She asked me.

"I just am. I'm young and I do—"

"Don't even start with that shit. Girl, you know you're going to be a great mother and Landon is going to be a great father. Hell, I'm here if you need me and you know I won't mind at all... I'd love to dress my godson or goddaughter up"

This girl is something else. I shook my head.

"You excited to graduate?" I hear Landon's voice behind me.

"Absolutely" I turned around smiling.

"Me too" he hugged me as the bell rang.

"I gotta go girl, Santos wants me to meet him at his car" Faith pats my shoulder before leaving.

Landon and I walked through the hallways of the school talking about this baby.

"Just let me know what you need and I'll get it" Landon told me.

"That's the thing. I don't know..."

"We can go shopping this weekend."

"That's fine with me"

"Okay, good. I wasn't taking no for an answer." He chuckled.

We both left out of school and I started to make my way to the buses.

"Where you going?" Landon asked.

"My car is in the shop, I'm taking the bus"

"No... No, come on" He took my hand and we walked to his car.

"There's no need for you to ride the bus, baby" he smiled opening the passenger door to his car.

I smiled as I sat down. It still amazes he how much he's kept up with his car over the years.

"What do you want to do now?" He got in starting up the car.

"Food, that would be amazing"

He smiled at me but it slowly faded to a blank face.

"You okay?" I asked him.

He looked at me like I said something that didn't make sense.

"Are you okay?" I sat up a little.

I took his hand into mine and his palms were sweaty.

"Landon"

He's having a seizure. I told myself.

"Fuck.... Hey baby can you hear me?" I shook his hand slightly.

"Hmm" he snapped out of it a little.

"Are you okay?" I repeated.

"Yeah" he looked around kind of dazed.

"Where are you?" I asked.

He took a good look around him before trying to answer.

"Ttthe store"

"No, we're at school. Give me your keys, let me drive"

"For what I'm fine" he insisted.

"You just had a seizure, you need to relax"

"... Fuck" I could tell he was embarrassed.

"It's okay. Just let me drive"

We traded spots and afterwards I found something quick for us to eat. Landon was somewhat quiet the whole ride so I had to think of something to occupy his mind.

"Yo—"

"Please don't tell my mom about this." He begged.

"What do you mean?"

"I don't want my mom to worry about me. I'm fine, I don't know what that was just a second ago but I'm okay"

"I'll only tell if you don't lie to me about how you feel when I ask you for the next couple of days. And if you're lying to me then I'm gonna tell her."

"I won't lie to you" he promised.

"Okay... Are you good though?"

"Yes baby I'm fine" he replied.

We eventually made it to my house and I grabbed my things as he came around to the drivers side. I really didn't want to leave him to drive home alone but he's insisting that I just chill since I'm pregnant and all that.

"Are you sure you're okay to drive?" I asked.

"I'm okay. I'll text you when I get home so you know I made it." He reassured me.

"You better" I was worried.

He got into his car, rolled the window down and smiled.

"Can I at least get a kiss?"

He knows I'm a sucker for that. I thought.

I leaned in and gave him a kiss and then another one... and one more.

"Alright... see," I pointed at him. "That's what gets it started"

"I love you" he chuckled.

"I love you too, be careful"

I went inside and up to my room to put my stuff down and lay down for a second. With me having a baby growing in me and my body changing at the same time, it makes simple tasks very, very difficult at times.

Man, I cannot wait until this baby is out of me. I thought.

I'm nowhere near my due date and I'm already ready for this to be over.

Who knew carrying a baby would be this hard...
