Landon's POV

2 weeks pass...

Here in the next couple of weeks my surgery is coming up. With Landon just being born, this surgery is going to make it really hard on Arely for a while. The last time I had a surgery, it only took me about 4 or 5 weeks to feel okay but that is a long time when you have a new born to take care of too.

I looked over at Arely who was sleeping peacefully next to me. I hate that I have to leave her to work but I know this is the only way the bills are going to get paid.

I slowly sat up and looked at the time which read 4:15 in the morning.

We found out really quick that Landon isn't going to be a quiet baby like some are. I mean for the most part he's a good baby, but at nights...

He's something else.

Just as I stood up out of bed he started crying.

"Fuck" I said under my breath.

Arely sat up slowly.

"I got him, Relly. Lay back down" I rubbed her back.

I went to his room turning the light on before popping my head in the room. I tried everything I could to get him to stop crying but ye wouldn't so I figured he might be hungry.

"Baby, I think he's hungry" I shook Arely lightly.

She slowly sat up and took him into her arms. I used that as my chance to hop in the shower because I know she likes a little privacy when she breastfeeds.

By the time I got out, they had both fallen back asleep. After I finished getting dressed, I made sure they were okay and I gave Arely a kiss before I left out for work.

At work...

"Xavier!" I turned when my boss called my name.

He motioned for me to come over to him.

"What's up" I hopped off of the forklift I was driving.

"Can you finish unloading the trailer in dock door 23?" He asked.

"Yeah, I got you" I started to walk away.

"By the way, you're over production so after that if you want to go home you can... oh and congrats on the baby"

"Thank you" I smiled.

Faith's POV

I stopped by Arely's to check up on her since Santos is out working or doing whatever it is he considers work. After knocking on her door, I waited for a couple seconds before the door opened and she let me in.

"Heyyyy, how's my nephew?!"

"Damn, I'm doing good, thank you" Arely chuckled.

"Girl, I'm sorry... how are you feeling?" I gave her a hug which she returned.

"I feel good" she laughed.

She handed Jr. to me and we both made our way to the living room.

"Bitch, I would kill for a house like this" I took in the beauty of their house.

I have to give it to them, if there's anyone that has made a way for themselves straight out of high school it is Landon and Arely. I mean yeah Santos and I have our own little spot but them two...

Let's just say Landon has put them in a very good spot in life.

"Landon is the only reason why we have this. If he hadn't gon pro with fighting, I don't know if we'd still be in something like this"

"I'm just glad we're with niggas that actually want good things in life" I told her.

"I can agree with that"

She sat next on the couch.

"Are you hungry?" She asked me.

"Hell yeah, I didn't eat this morning" I told her.

"Well let—"

She was interrupted by her phone ringing. While she got that phone call, I held Jr. and admired him.

They made one beautiful baby. I smiled at the thought.

"L. A. X.... you have the least set of initials out there lil man" I lightly rubbed the top of his hand.

"Faith"

"Yeah" I glanced over at Arely.

"We need to go pick up Landon" she told me.

"Why? What happened?"

"He had a seizure, he's okay. They just don't want him to clock out and drive himself home."

"Okay, yeah... let's go"

Arely's POV

"Thank you again, Faith." I said as I closed her door.

"I'll take Jr. back to your house so you don't have to get him out and all that" she said.

"Okay, I'll see you there"

Shortly after, Landon walked out of the building and met me at the bench I was sitting at.

"You okay baby?" I asked.

"I-I'm okay." He replied.

He handed me his keys so we could get home.

"Was it a bad one?" I asked trying to focus on getting out of the parking lot.

"Nah, nnot too bad. I remember wwwhat happened so I didn't fall out" he said.

"Good, that's good."

"I just need this surgery and I know it's coming soon but I-I'm just ready to be seizure free"

"I know L. And you will be."

"God, I-I hope so. I miss what that feels like, you-you know?"

I nodded my head.

Even though I didn't know what he was talking about because I've never experienced something like that, I knew I had to agree. I know I've never had a seizure and I don't want to, but I know what it feels like to miss how life used to be different.

I can't even begin to imagine what he experiences with those episodes and it hurts my heart to witness it...

So I can only hope that this surgery does help him become seizure free...
