Arely's POV

"I'm very proud of you, sweetie" my dad kissed my forehead.

"Thank you" I hugged him tight.

"You're life has been full of trials and tribulations but you are one brave, courageous young woman... and I love that we were chosen to watch you prosper in life" my mom joined the hug.

"Thank you guys so much for everything, you really didn't have to do anything you have and I'll forever be grateful."

I quickly caught the tears in my eyes before they fucked up my makeup.

"Well go ahead and go before you're late" my dad nudged me towards the front door.

I headed out and made my way to the school I'm record time. Crazy that the last time I'd ever set foot on this campus, would be the time I'd actually wanting to be here.

I sit in my mirror fixing my makeup and my cap and whatnot. I almost couldn't sit still in my seat, I mean, I'm graduating. Those worse feel weird coming out of my mouth.

"BITCH!!" Faith jump scares the shit out of me.

"What the fuck?" I rolled my window down.

"Today's the day" she walks around my car and hops in like it's hers.

"Sure, get in." I say sarcastically.

"Thank you, girl"

We both look over when Landon's Mustang pulls up next to my car.

"Damn, Mr. Knock a Nigga Out, okay we see you" Faith said.

I laughed.

"Hey baby" I said to him.

"Hey baby girl" he smiled.

"Where's Santos?" Faith asked.

"Right here baby... high then a bitch" Santos sat up and laughed.

"Ughh, Shut the fuck up" she said.

"Y'all ready to do this shit" Santos hit the blunt and passed it.

We all hit it a couple times before putting it out and parking closer to the stadium.

"Let's get this shit done, cuhs"

Landon's POV

"Damn, you all the way back there" Santos pointed to my name on the graduation pamphlet.

"Yeah, I-I know..." I smiled.

"You good?" He asked patting my shoulder.

"Yeah, I-I'm good"

He sucked his teeth.

"Yeah aight"

"What?" I looked at him.

"Nothing..."

I turned back around.

"...lying ass"

"Huh?"

"I didn't say nothing" he threw his hands up.

They seated us and just like Santos said, I was in the back. I mean it's obvious I was going to be because they love going alphabetically by last name.

I sat down and remembered to take deep breaths so I don't pass out in here. It's going to be a long day and I want to make it through the whole day without something going down.

We sat through the Star Spangled Banner, a choir song, a valedictorian speech, 2 saludictorian speeches, and a couple of other announcements before they started calling names to walk.
