Landon's POV
Months later...
Today, is my weigh-in for my first fight in a long time. I can't lie, I almost forgot how this whole process goes but my coach was there with me to help out.
"The conference, is basically all about shit talking. It's a way to get in your opponents head, but you don't have to do it like that. You can still be professional" he explained.
"What about the weigh-in itself?" I asked.
"It's about to start. All you do is strip down to shorts or whatever. As long as you are within certain weights you should be fine."
"Okay"
"This is all new to me too, so just go with the flow"
"Where's my girl?" I asked.
We both searched for Arely and found her a little lost in the crowd.
I made my way over to hers
"You okay?" I asked.
"Mhmm, I love you" she smiled and gave me a kiss.
I could tell she liked being in the middle of all this chaos. She was just looking around smiling hoping to get caught in the background of any picture being taken.
After they took weights, we had to head to this conference room for a press meeting or something. I was excited, but I didn't know what I was going to say either. I've only fought one time in the UFC so I still have no clue what to expect.
"Just sit here" my coach said.
"Okay, can she sit here too?" I asked.
"Yeah" my coach pulled up a chair for Arely.
Arely's POV
The whole time Landon was answering questions I was just sitting happy as fuck. I like being in the middle of all the action. All the cameras and people asking questions, hell, I was even interviewed a couple times.
"Where did the name Ace come from?" A reporter asked Landon.
"It's just my middle name," he chuckled. "If anyone could answer that question it'd be my mom"
After quite a few more questions, the conference was over. There were a lot of people around making it hard to move so I stayed seated for a second.
"Come on, Relly" Landon grabbed my hand to help me stand up.
I stood up immediately feeling my pants become wet.
"Baby" I tried getting Landon's attention but it was too loud.
I felt a little bit of pain in my stomach making me squeeze Landon's hand.
"You okay?" He looked back.
"Baby" I said pointing to my belly.
"Baby? Now?! Oh shit"
He pulled me closer to him trying to clear a path to the exit.
"Move!" He kept pushing through people.
"Here," he picked me up. "Get the fuck out the way!"
Landon's voice kind of carries little bit so once he told people to get out of his way a whole pathway to the exit cleared.
"What's going on?" His coach caught up to us.
"My baby is coming" he said.
"Oh."
His coach quickly ran to our car and opened the door for him. Landon sat me down in the passenger seat of his car wasting no time to get in and drive me to the hospital.
"Which wat to the hospital?" He asked racing down the street.
"Left up here" his coach directed.
All of these lefts and rights we had to take I swear the baby could've been born by now.
"Hurry... Please" I begged.
Now, these contractions were getting closer and worse.
"Almost there Rel. Hold on"
"Right up here then pull into the ambulance bay."
Landon helped get me into a wheel chair once we got there, a couple of nurses too me away which made me nervous because last time we were a little more prepared. My parents don't even know and I don't know if his mom does either.
"Please call my parents, or his... something"
"We will, ma'am but right now we have to focus on welcoming you're baby into the world." The nurse said.
Landon's POV
"What happened?" My mom ran up to me.
"The baby is coming" I smiled.
"Oh my goodness!" My mom was happy for me.
"Any minute now" I said.
"You guys can come on back if you'd like"
That was almost like a dumb question for my mom and I, of course I want to see my babies.
"You're doing great. On these next contractions you can push."
Arely took my hand and pushed as hard as she could.
"Good job, just two more good pushes" the doctor said.
I held Arely's hand tight as she continued pushing.
"... Here's your baby girl" the doctor said.
She laid the baby on Arely's chest for a second before wiping her off and wrapping her up.
"What would you like to name her?" A midwife asked her.
"Aaliyah Brielle"
I had no clue that that's the name we had decided, but it does have a nice ring to it I must admit. Regardless of my baby's name, my baby is healthy.
The doctor handed me a pair of scissors to cut the umbilical cord. Last time, I was a little scared to but now I was ready to hold my child so I wasted no time snipping it.
I couldn't stop looking at her when she was in my arms either. I know I said I wanted a boy, but there was something about having a baby girl that felt good.
"She's gonna be a daddy's girl" my mom said.
"How you know?" I asked her.
"The way you're holding her is the same way I held you and you're most definitely a mama's boy" she laughed.
I handed her back to Arely.
"I guess so"
Arely's POV
"I love you" Landon said almost making me jump.
I've been laying in bed with Aaliyah watching TV for the past couple of hours. They said I should be good to go home in a day or two so for now, we're just chilling in this recovery room.
"I love you too" I smiled.
"... You know. I'd say I'm living the best life ever right now" he told me.
"I think so too"
"I got the girl I love the most, two healthy kids, a good career and a beautiful house"
I smiled at him.
Even with everything we've been through in the past year and a half, I would not trade one second of it for anything else in this world. My family has made my life so happy and bright...
Nothing will ever take that feeling from me...
